[Costco] TCL 65-in. 4 Series 4K HDR Roku Smart TV 65S423CA $499 Shipped

Costco has the TCL 65S423CA 65" Roku Smart TV at $499 shipped online. Not sure what it's in store price is, but likely $489-$499, if still available. This is the older 4 Series, so more of a budget/entry level TV.
No local dimming or wide color pallette, but decent for average use. Probably best used in low to moderate lighting, since these do not get overly bright.
Usual Costco member benefits.
90 day return, return shipping paid. 2 year warranty and $30, sub $500, 3 year warranty extension, for 5 years total.
I would give my life to protect your right to say something really funking stupid.

upvoted! Thank you @idiotcanuck I still remember I bought a handful of TVs for myself and immediate family (sisters, mom etc.) though the deals you have posted.

any idea if TCL 65" is significantly better than the Skyworth 65" posted a couple of weeks ago?

Got this from last sale for $300, decent budget TV, only thing that I would complaint is the motion blur is very noticeable when I watch 4K movies.

With this price, I'm happy with it.

Thanks.
Probably. Skyworth doesn't have a great rep, but like a lot of budget no name TV's there can be some diamonds in the ruff. At least there is a lot of unbiased info about the TCL 4 Series and you can get a good sense if one fits your needs and standards, before trying one. Of course with any LED these days you might need to exchange them to get a good unit.

Was it the 65 incher or the 55 incher? Don't think I ever saw this TV for 300$. If you did in fact get it for 300, then its an awesome deal.

Hard to say. Nothing right at the moment that I am aware of, but there are $499 65" deals that crop up from time to time. Hard to match the Costco return policy/warranty anywhere else though.
You could always get one of these shipped and sit on it until July, and return it if you find a better deal, but there are no guarantees that these TCLs will still be around to get an exchange, if you like it and decide to keep it, but need to try another unit of the same model to get optimum quality. I think there were 150 units in stock at Costco earlier, BTW.

I believe the issue was with the 434 model, which is the 2020 version of the 4 series that runs Android TV.

https://securityledger.com/2020/11/tv-m ... r-process/

The one Costco is selling here is the 2019 version of the TCL 4 series which runs Roku (model # is 421/423/425 depending on which retailer you buy it from). There is also a 2020 version of the 4 series that runs Roku, which I believe the model number is 435.

I for the most part just use my Firestick or Chromecast with Google TV sticks to run and don't connect the actual TV to the internet anyways.

Skyworth 65" was $399. Was originally $549 then 499 then 399. I'm wondering if we Gem StoneOpen Hands Sign, if it would go down to 399 as well...

I'm still sour that I missed out on the $399 skyworth

Grabbed one from OP. Will return if we see a $399 deal pop up!

Really can't decide if I buy the 4-series 65" or wait for 5-series 65" to restock & be on sale (think it was like ~$720 around Black Fri/Boxing Day)...

I think all smart TV these days spy on people. They collect a large amount of data.

Roku actually makes money by selling your data. That's why their hardware is cheap. They want to be in more homes to sell more data.
