[Costco] Thomas and friends mad dash to sodar train set *49.99

I was looking for a train set for my kids and saw that this set is currently on sale for 49.99 down from 79.99 this weekend with free shipping.

I ended up picking one up, approx 225 left in stock at the time of this posting.

Looks like a decent deal.

How do you check the online stock levels ?

Enter 999 as quantity and try to add it.
We're sorry, only 224 are available for item 2468123. Please adjust your quantity and try again.

Can anyone comment on the quality of this set? The 1* review isn't very encouraging, curious if there's other feedback out there. Wife and I almost bought this at $80 a few weeks back lol

edit: found this YouTube video (also, this kid has 27 mill subscribers??):

Seems kinda janky but might be worth it for $50

The build quality probably just like any other Thomas trackmaster set.

This is good value with the size and the number of pieces. Worth it if your kids are into trains and or Thomas. The remote control is pretty cool. I've never seen a rc trackmaster train before.

I might order it and save it for a later time for the boys.

I wouldn't pay attention to a one star review without any actual review.

It has 4 stars on Amazon with 40 reviews.
But my experience is that every Thomas set has been pretty quality so far.

And it's Costco, if you hate it, just return it.

I wouldnt take Ryan's review seriously.

Fwiw, my son loves Thomas and trains and especially the track master sets. The quality is ok but then they're made out of plastic so no worries.

We have quite a few track sets. It got to a point where i wanted to use my imagination and connect multiple tracks with different height levels to build a big track but finding more height stands was challenging.

Also the trains got pricey too. I think we have about 15.

At one point ive looked on kijiji to find some savings but i didnt find anything i like.

I believe most kids would enjoy this type of sets. Oh and make sure to invest in rechargeable batteries. I am set with ikea ladda and eneloops

All my kids still love the Trackmaster series. We store in a large bin & once a year "find" it for the kids & it's like we boght them new toys!

Quality of the sets is always good. We have a very similar set (with the circular rising tracks) that the kids always re-build (believe it is a crown/mine set). Only downside we discover to Trackermaster series is every few years the buggers change how the tracks join -- so you then have to track down adapter &/or pay a premium price to get. Otherwise, the two toys that will forever exist in our home, into retirement/grandkids, will be Lego & Trackmaster...

Anyone know if this is cheaper in-store? I know it was also $79.99 in store a week ago, but I can't see it going that much lower than $30 off?
