Can you put them in dishwashers?

edit: appears to be hand wash only

I don't think you can ever put wood chopping boards in dishwashers. If you are worried about cleanliness, you can google lots of stuff about it. IIRC, wood is better bc the bad stuff "dies" inside wood whereas plastic leaves crevasses for it to hide and it doesn't die.

You shouldn't be putting any wooden things in your dishwasher because it breaks the wood. Cutting board, spoons, utensils, etc.

I think you have it backwards. Its got a low chance to happen if you wash it well but wood actually will have a higher chance of carrying contaminates vs a plastic one that can go in the dish washing machine. That said alot of people will have plastic for meats, wood for fruits and vegetables. I myself always use wood ones and never have had any illness from it ... that I know of.

Never put a wood cutting board in the dishwasher and when washing it in the sink do not leave it to 'soak' in water. This will cause expansion and contraction and can cause joints to fail over time.

Keep in mind these are not really "teak", which is why it's so cheap relative to teak cutting boards.

Brazillian "Teak" is not the tectona grandis species (teak). It's the species Cumaru, instead, which is often passed off as a cheaper teak.

Is that right from the website :<

I find that concerning because Teak dulls saw blades more than lots of other hard woods, so I can't imagine how its "gentle" on knives. Buyer beware.

**post above would make more sense of it, if its not true teak then it may be gentler...

Also being submerged/wet for long periods in hot water (ie. soaking in hot water, dishwasher, etc.) will degrade the binding agent/glue.

My personal method ...
Scrub any cutting board with a hard bristle brush in dish detergent/water mix and dry well after rinse before setting aside.
Occassionally, brush-scrub with salt onto the board to remove more 'dirts' caused by knife cuts before the standard wash as above.

no, wood is better since wood has antibacterial properties. The more damage to the plastic, the harder it is to clean, even in a dishwasher. Not only that, when you use a plastic cutting board, you get a high chance of getting microplastics in your food. So overall, wood is better.

These are IMO too small for cutting most things when I checked them out in stores, 14.5x10 really isn't a lot of space to work, especially with one side being grooved, losing even more cutting real estate. Most would probably struggle to dice a large onion on this board without shifting around. Held off despite the $0.97 tag because I didn't see myself needing a new small board let alone 2 of them.

I find it very hard to wash my large chopping board in the sink, I might try 2 the small ones side by side and see how it goes. washing 2 smaller ones will be alot easier than washing 1 large board.

Never knew that you cannot put wooden chopping boards in Dishwasher. Now, am impressed with Dollarama wood/ bamboo boards which survived 3 months of daily dishwasher before breaking.
