[Costco] UMBRA Automatic Soap and Sanitizer Dispenser - 2-pack ($39.99 Online) $34.99 In Store

Found this on Costco.ca for a 2-pack Umbra soap dispenser. I never used one before so not sure about the quality of the dispensers. They normally go for $40 each at other places.

Available in store - $34.99

Speaking from personal experience, I purchased one from Homesense for $24.99 a couple years back. I'm not sure if it was the soap I was using, but it clogged and is now it's unusable after 4 months of use.

I’ve been using a SimpleHuman automatic dispenser for years, and it got clogged once after a year of using regular hand soap in it. Took it apart and cleared the clog from the tube. Bought and used their soap specifically for automatic dispensers. Haven’t had issues with clogging since. In fact, it’s working so well that I’ve bought two more in the last couple of years to replace other older dispensers.

Moral of the story is that you should look for and use soap made specifically for these types of dispensers, or they’re going to get clogged on you, probably because normal hand soap is too thick.

There's a 5 year warranty...
No details of the warranty on Costco or Umbra website however.

I assume you can just take this back to Costco at anytime if it fails.

i owned a few Simplehuman one and they the best. My company has one for over 5 years. The key is to use them regularly otherwise the soap will dry out and clog. Good price on these. The Simplehuman are $50 each.

I also had problems with clogging with a SimpleHuman dispenser but they came out with a model that has the soap reservoir on top so gravity assists in the dispensing (versus sucking up through a tube). It has worked flawlessly (it gets used daily) for over a decade. I truly believe the inverted design of the dispenser is what makes it perform so well.

I have simplehuman one for about 10 years now. Purchased about $25 each. Used 10+ times a day, maybe that's why it's never clog. Mine use 4 AA, this one use 4 AAA. I assume this one needs to change battery more frequently, that's a downside if you use it very offen.

I also recommend Simplehuman. I've been using the rechargeable ones for 5 years and haven't had a single problem. I don't use their soap either

Lol, they don’t work with Costco’s hand sanitizer, both failed, I had to return them.

I also recommend the simple human, but the latest version with charging. The battery version, when it runs out of battery, tends to empty the entire container and make a mess - the latest version with charging doesn't have this problem and works flawlessly.

I bought this during BF as well - rechargeable and looks so good. Arriving tomorrow. Hoping the Costco SoftSoap refills work with this?

My SimpleHuman is about 5 years old, one that runs on 4 AA's. I think the only time we used SimpleHuman soap was the bag that was included. After that, it's been the Aloe SoftSoap from Costco and never a problem.
