Question: How good is the sound quality of a soundbar, sub, and 2 uprights that does Dolby Atmos?

I was under the impression most decent Atmos setups would be 7.1 or at the very least 5.1.

Hot deal!

Must resist.

Have a perfectly working old Vizio sound bar already and always said I’ll wait to upgrade till I see a deal on the 46” version of this.

It will never be as good as a dedicated speaker setup for similar price. Just my $0.02. The only reason to get a soundbar is space restriction issues.

Is dolby atmos a speaker feature, or do you need content that sends a proper signal for it?

Was eyeing the Yamaha YAS-207, but for $50 more this seems like a better deal!

Da boot

The good

Atmos enabled
Many ways to adjust sound

The bad

Narrow sound field
Bass lacks detail
UH narrow sound field and 4/5 stars, someone had a brand preference.

I think it's hilarious that these sound bars are pretending to be capable of more and more things each year. I can't wait to see some sort of 10.4.4 ridiculous lie, hell go for 20, it's worse than tvs with 900+ hz on their boxes.

These do sound good, but you'll rarely get accurate location of sounds reproduced.

My soundbar budget was up to $400, but I wouldn't mind paying less. Also don't care about 5.1 over 2.1 just with room layout, space, etc.

Is this the best value/deal right now under $400, though?

I was considering a soundbar setup just so I wouldn't need to do wiring all across for rear speakers. Has anyone heard the speaker/sub on this? Is it better than the Sony that's on sale for $499? Also how would you wire the rear speakers, they connect to the sub? Might as well then just deal with a fully wired setup if so.

The one from Vizio has upfiring speakers, the Sony one doesn't.

Correct. Wired to the wireless sub so it helps with the room placement.

Would you recommend this for $400 with Atmos and having easier cable management, sleeker design, or the Yamaha 5.1 PKGII HTiB that is $500 also on Costco.ca? It would be for a bedroom-size room that has become my office/media centre. Note I live in a condo so won't be pushing either to their limits.
