[Costco] Vizio SoundBar SB2820n-E0 $49.97 [MSRP $109.99]

The Vizio SB2820n-E0 Soundbar is on sale at Costco.ca. This is clearly not high end material, but it's surprisingly good for sub $50. If your TV has an Optical audio output, you can simply use the included Optical cable and the Soundbar will play whatever is playing on your TV. My Xbox One X, Nintendo Switch and Amazon Fire TV 4K are all plugged in different HDMI ports on my TV and the SoundBar plays whatever input is active.

Folks are running, meanwhile I'm trying to figure out what I'd use it for... I don't own a proper TV (except through the business), and I don't need one in my office (except for the LG UK6300 43" 4K IPS). I'll have to pass, gents.

Nice find, OP.

Check your TV specifications if you intend to do this as my Toshiba and my friends top of the line Sony don't pass through Dolby Digital or DTS through the optical output.

Indeed, that seems to be the case. Weird that they don't list it on the official product page.

I added it to OP. Thanks!

I have a Vizio P65-F1 and DTS does pass through the Optical Out.

Maybe this can help other people find out if their TV supports it:

Thats odd, it used to be the case I got at least one DD on the Toshibas, Samsungs and Sonys, any way the DTS enhancements will work with PCM stereo without an issue, also depending on source and TV you might be able to get multichannel PCM from source, through the TV and to the soundbar, which should work better with the enhancements than sending stereo signal.

You don't even need a TV. You can use it as a computer speaker or just a nice bluetooth speaker to connect to around the house for music playback. Balcony / Outdoor speaker.

For $50 can't go wrong.

72 units left.

We're still half an hour from stock out.

Time to meditate on the value of this purchase, as I'm doing right now.
