Costco Web Pricing Inconsistencies

I find it hard to follow Costco pricing. Sometimes things look like regular price. Other times, a discount is clearly marked. Sometimes they even put a date that the pricing is in effect to.

Yesterday, was looking at a washer/dryer set. Checked this morning and the price shot up $100 but no indication previously that the item was even on sale or discounted so I took it as a regular price.

Anybody else notice these Amazon type price fluctuations?

How are you sourcing this info ...
Example, the W&D set
Were you searching via Appliances ?
Cuz that might explain it

Costco.ca has different layers of sales / promos

There are the printed flyers / warehouse deals that last 2 to 4 wks

Then there are the Weekly Treasure Hunt - Hot Buys - and ... Going, Going, Gone

Not unusual for something to be listed in the Weekly Treasure Hunt, or Hot Buys one day and not the next

And I’ve found if I just did a search for a particular item ... or went via a category (say W&D)

Then sometimes there’s no way to know that the price I am seeing is actually cuz it’s a Warehouse Deal, Hot Buy, or part of the Weekly Treasure Hunt

So now when I look at the website... I usually check those places first to see what’s what.

I have found many a great deal by changing my Costco strategy ... from just a universal search ... to browsing the deals first
