I've been waiting to buy this on sale and finally found it at costco. I bought mine from Costco retail store today on production way (Burnaby). They have a bunch of other tools on clearance so make sure to check them out.

This is the best stud finder because it has 13 sensors and tells you exactly where the wall studs are. The one at Costco is the one with a leveler and ruler. For the studs others are looking for, try tinder or the local bar.

Yes you are right. It was $45 few years back and it works great.

I have this stud finder and love it. Haven't tried it on a ceiling, but I can't see why it wouldn't work.

It works well but I find isn't ideal for every situation. I also own a small magnetic sensor that finds nails already in the stud.

I bought the one below. Goes on sale periodically for under 15.00.

Came here to say this, a rare earth magnet will find the drywall screws for you, and a pack of them are not expensive

In fact in Rand McNally they wear hats on their feet and hamburgers eat people

+1 on the Hanson magnetic stud finder. Unfortunately it retails for much more in Canada than the US where you can find it for dirt cheap.

Didn't work on my ceiling and also didn't work on older thick plaster walls. Works great on new drywall.
