I thought I had - and it posted and it only showed 40% off. Is it still showing as only 40% off?

Everything with .97 is already 40% off? Don’t see the before clearance price to confirm. Over $100 a steak knife at clearance price seems pretty expensive no? If you can afford that price I would think the steaks you are eating are already pretty tender such that a butter knife might be all you need LOL.

I am marking it as 40% compared to every other retailer. I don’t know what Costco was selling this originally for.

This is not a post for someone looking for a cheap set of knives. This is an expensive quality buy it for life kind of thing. I had been building up a collection knife by knife. I am happy to remove the percentage off if this is misleading to those that are actually interested in buying Wusthof knives. For those not interested in Wusthof, it probably doesn’t matter. At this price you want to do some research and not buy first think later. These are a significant investment for many people.

Bought the 2 set Classic IKON (chef's knife + pairing knife) couple of weeks ago on clearance from Costco at 149.97 to replace a cheap block set we started out with. Best money I ever spent on kitchenware. They cut like BUTTER. I can't recommend the Wusthof knives enough, they're worth every dollar. Seriously. You get what you pay for. You don't even feel them cut that's how good they are and they practically dry themselves after washing because the blade doesn't hold onto water, just a couple of few drops. I understand the hype behind them now.

Edited to add: I had also bought the 2 set Global knives on clearance from Costco at the same time. Returned the Global unopened to my local store. While it looked nice, it felt too handle heavy for me personally. The blade itself was different as well. We preferred the Wusthof ones.

Looks like 35% off regular price so close enough to 40%. Wusthof store on Amazon has these 15% off right now so not as good a deal as some of the others which are more than 50% off. I was hoping there was an easy way to find the best deal.

Anyone see these in the Business Costco? Same clearance price there?

Just you wait. You may end up like me and want more. But if you have self restraint and are satisfied with one good knife your bank account will be happy

Why don’t you give me a sale percentage and I will edit the post to make you happy :)

Whatever the % is, someone genuinely interested in these knives will look so I am happy to reduce the percentage so it is less misleading to those that aren’t familiar with the brand.

Pulled the trigger on the 9" Chef's knife, thanks OP!

The 7 and 8 piece sets come with a standard 8" Chef's knife....this 9" version, better/worse - what's the word?

I got the 8 piece set of the ikon classic (there is a difference in the handle quality between ikon classic and classic. But otherwise the same steel, weight of blade, etc).

8” probably too short for a watermelon but 9” will be decent. 9” might be too long for your cutting board, but some people don’t care about it poking out. Really is personal preference.

Much better. It still has the precision, but its long enough to cut longer items more easily.

Pulled the trigger on the 9" chef's knife as well. Since this is my first higher end knife, could anyone recommend something to maintain the sharpness? (Honing steel, electric sharpener, etc?)
