Found this at the Guelph location. Was the last one there.

Originally purchased the 65” C1 during the 20% sale, but can’t justify the extra $700 right now.
Plus now that Costco has changed their warranty a bit, I now get an extra year coverage (now they give you 4 years instead of 3).

If anyone in Guelph KW area wants to buy a 65” C1 let me know before I take it back. Still in the box in my garage.

If I bought this TV less than 3 months ago, would they price match? (Assuming it's the same price at a Costco near me)

My Costco only do price match for 30 days. After that you need to buy new and return with the old receipt.

They also only do it if the TV is in stock.

For what it's worth, it's the same price in Calgary NE. Picked one up yesterday (3 left then I believe), they're clearing them out since the new models are coming.

Is this any better than the recently acquired x85j for $799?

My local Costco would also only do it if it's within 30 days and in-stock at their particular location.

Yup it’s a better tv and you can see the comparison on rtings. Is it worth $500 more? Depends on your budget…

Should have kept the C1

Depends. If you’re just watching SDR content then the difference won’t be drastic but noticeable. Once you move over to HDR content the difference will be much more apparent.

It's a better TV with LD and gets a bit brighter but it's not hugely brighter (the X90J itself is "only" a 800 nits TV); and does not have the "4:4:4 120Hz bug" the X85J has (along with several other make/model 2021 120Hz TVs).

At a $500 difference in price, if you have the X85J and are happy with it, I would not bother to "upgrade". The $800 deal on the 65X85J was a great one. This X90J has been cheaper (on the Bell/Source deal) so it's not as great a "deal". The 2021 Sonys were somewhat of a disappointment in some ways--the X90J only being 800 nits and lacking WCG, for example. The new X90K fixes these with nearly 1000 nits brightness and WCG back in the mix though somehow they've managed to have poorer LD than the J. The X85J though was a pretty welcome "addition" in 2021 though, as it added VA and 120Hz to the "800 series" TVs, which you didn't have in previous years.

There is no "reg. price" for an X90J anymore; this TV is discontinued and should be being clearanced at all places that sell it. The X90K replaces it and is going for about $2k (65") most places--launch pricing.

Thank you so much for clearing that up. I'll be keeping the x85j. Actually needed a 2nd Tv for home theatre so thought about x90j but then Costco will be having A80j in the coming week so that'd be a no brainer.

Picked this up over the 75" X85j, due to the superior screen quality. Awesome picture.
