[Costco] XBOX 1 Wireless Controller $39.99

For those that missed the $39 Staples deal - you can pick one up @ Costco for about the same price - $39.99.

It should be all of East coast (since it did not end in .97) I was at Costco (Woodbine & Hwy7) last night.

The controller is the NEWER controller with the 3.5mm audio jack.
It works both wired OR wirelessly (via dongle that's sold separately).

Is the one in-store the new controller with the built-in 3.5mm headphone jack?

Amazon.ca and Costco.ca have the new one for $45.99:

It should be, I don't think you can find the old controller (without the 3.5mm jack) anymore. On the other hand, there is a rumor floating around about a redesigned Xbox One controller.

Guys FYI these will work with a PC so long as you buy the wireless dongle.

Great deal, thanks OP!

Any good deals in the wireless dongle? ;)
Heard any eBay one will still work?

Can anyone comment on this vs the $65 one from Staples that was on the thread yesterday?

This one seems to have a lower regular price at most stores, but it has the audio port, which I don't think that the other one had.

What makes the other one more expensive?

Did anyone find the directional pad on the X1 controller very loud with a "clicky" noise? It was very distracting when I tried.

So this controller is not wireless unless you buy a dongle ? Does that mean it has to be wired to work straight out of the box ?

How much is the dongle then ?

It's an Xbox One wireless controller, not the wireless PC controller.
I think the dongles to use this with the PC wirelessly are like $25 or something.
Amazon should have them.

Ok so it will work wirelessly on the Xbox one. The price is $55 on the Costco website.

If PC, Yes;
If XBox1, No (it works wirelessly without a need for a dongle)

Yes (PC);
No (XBox1) - same reason as above.

MSRP $25-29.
