[Costco] (YMMV In Store) Cubii Jr Compact Elliptical 149.97 (Down from 249.99)

YMMV in store only.

Saw these at the entrance of the Kenaston Costco in Winnipeg.

Pretty good if you need something to go under your desk at work, or for parents/elderly/sedentary.

I keep seeing this in the store. There's no way this thing actually works well. When you're using one of these while sitting down, the chair is bearing most of your body weight. The whole point of exercise machines is to make your legs bear your body weight.

And how do you keep your chair from rolling away???
Looks like my RFD account was recently hacked. I do not sell anything on RFD especially GC's.

Wait til you find out what people do on stationary bikes. The audacity for bikes to have seats?! How dare they!

There are little blocks that you put one of the chair wheels in and it keeps it in place.

gotta use it with a chair that won't slide away like the first stock photo.

although it's funny cause the second stock photo shows someone using it with a wheeled chair

This isnt really used as a cardio machine...
It is more for hyperactive people to keep their focus.

They use this in our school to keep some kids busy while the class is going on

Exercise bikes put you in a posture that allows you to exert force with your legs. This thing does not. You will be spending most of your effort not pushing your chair and the elliptical away from each other.

IIRC, activity like this can help those stay on track at work/school according to studies.

Sounds like that would be quite the workout. Aka, success

Check out Merivale. I don't remember the price but they had it in the middle-ish isles last time I went. They also have the bench jacket in stock and bench board shorts on sale.

That's about what they go for used. Been keeping an eye on them. No, they don't do much. Yes, you're better off getting up and walking around your office for a couple minutes every hour. But, hey, if that's not an option, better than nothing 🤷
They're also good for people who can't bear weight on their legs/feet.

I once thought about purchasing this but decided against it. Two reasons:

- It takes away leg room. I like to have room to freely move my legs and feet under my desk as I work.
- Sometimes I sit closer to the desk with my knees under which wouldn't allow me to raise my knees during pedaling without hitting the underside of my desk.

I can see a lot of value for the elderly as OP mentioned.

I have this and I quite like it... it's mostly for fidgeting but I think if you keep yourself going at a good clip it does keep the blood moving a bit... you're not gonna break a sweat but I do feel different/better on days I keep at it over days when I just laze around using it as a foot stool.

my sister has this and I tried it

I get it, it's like a recumbent (contrary to what the other poster said about your weight being over the moving part)

But it didn't work for me very well.

you need an ideal set up where your chair doesn't move easily on your floor, my wheeled chair totally shifted. or the little stoppers would move over time.

I could see a chair with sled legs being pushed back on carpet over time, and then you'd be too far from the unit after a short while.

Even if the chair doesn't move, the elliptical moved away on my bamboo floor, I guess it was dusty under the desk.

Anyway, this is why recumbents are a single unit and I wasn't a fan. I guess I can ask my sister if she still likes it

The JR2 version is better from shoppers. They have had it on sale and with points promo works to a better deal and better buy.

The enhancements make a difference. We returned ours to Costco have to trying both. The mat is flimsy nonsense.
