Which country will win the most number of Gold Medals at Tokyo Olympics

Just check what is everyone's opinion

My prediction, China will win 34 gold and USA 32 gold. And before the last day of the event, two Chinese players will be "discovered" doping by CIA's direct agents and inform the international anti-doping committee. With the two deprived gold, USA will clinch the top.

If China has lead USA in gold by an edge of 5 gold. USA will lose the dominance!

USA has become a third world country, and it becomes more obvious when it start to lose dominance in Olympics!

Gold Medals table as of July 30th
1 China (CHN) 19 10 11 40
2 Japan (JPN)* 17 4 7 28
3 United States (USA) 14 16 11 41
4 ROC (ROC) 10 14 10 34
5 Australia (AUS) 9 2 11 22
6 Great Britain (GBR) 6 9 9 24
7 South Korea (KOR) 5 4 6 15
8 Netherlands (NED) 3 7 5 15
9 France (FRA) 3 5 5 13
10 Germany (GER) 3 4 9 16

Russia is not even allowed since they're banned. don't think they'll win the most lol
Under the terms of the ruling, the word "Russia" can appear on athletes' uniforms as long as the phrase "neutral athlete" is equally prominent. Uniforms may not bear the Russian flag, but will be permitted to have the flag's colors. The Russian national anthem will not be played or sung at any official event venue.

I think China will win the most gold.
But USA will win the most overall medal.

China aims to train/develop athletes in high variant type sports.
Like swimming, diving, gymnastics, weight lifting etc.
Each of those has a whole crap load of medals for the general sport.

USA has good athletes in almost everything. So high chances for them to win a bunch of gold & everything else.

The competition between USA and China in gold medals would be very tight. USA is clearly the favorite, however, the last two times USA came to Asia for Olympics, they were 2nd in the table.

In terms of medals, USA should be number one. Japan may get the 2nd spot.

Did you notice that Asians born and raised in North America is usually 2~3 inches shorter than those born in Asia?

I went to South Korea, China, & Japan in 2019, males under 30 yrs old were taller than I expected. I think younger generation over there is making big progress in terms of height. South Korea & China used to be poor back in the day

China is leading the table with 3 gold on the first day. Americans have not won any medals. Looks that Covid-19 really affects them.

USA, look at the history. most of the time, it ties with the country's GDP. And don't forget, it's held in Japan. Judges count - I still remember the World Cup, though not Olympics, that held in South Korea. but i'm sure judges is no less a factor than World Cup. So I won't be surprised if China can't come out as 2nd, maybe 3rd or 4th.

I downvoted mainly for the party vibe. Face With Tears Of Joy Also, Canada should have never been on the list at all. Canada has never even came close to 1st. It's not Winter Olympics, bro. Neither South Korea nor Japan.

Canada definitely have capacity to win gold. I even have a friend who won Summer olympics gold for canada 13 years ago.

South Korea and Japan are very strong in Sports. What are you talking about?

South Korea and Japan can easily beat UK and France in medals table.

Definitely no!!! It is not related to GDP at all. Sports has nothing to do with GDP. It is related to people's health status.

Before 1990s, East Germany has much lower GDP than west. But East Germany can easily win 30~40 gold in each Olympics, but west Germany can merely make 5 or 10.

Singapore is the richest Asian countries in terms of GDP per capita. But it has only won 1 gold in the past. North Korea has the lowest GDP per capita, but it has won more than 40 gold in the past.

Ethiopia was poor, but it has won more gold than any other African countries.

Basketball has only 1 gold. USA basketball team cannot even beat Nigeria and France in the friendly match, you expect them to win Gold? I think Australia or Spain will win gold in men's basket ball.

Swim? China has the capability to win gold in women 100m, 200m butterfly, and Australia is the favorites in many categories, USA is losing their dominance.

Track and Fields? I never watch this event, although it has the most number of golds.

Watch table tennis, badminton, weightlifting, shooting, and diving! These are my favorites.

Unbounded opinion and equal ignorance.
