covered ?

will my bro in law be covered for a leak that is causing an issue for the condo unit below?

he was a fool and didn't fix the issue 5 yrs ago when he was notified by the condo ...he claimed the superintendent said he couldn't find an issue so he just let it go ( I don't think superintendents are licenced plumbers ).

additionally looks like his policy won't cover him but just wanan make sure as it says
"exclusions ...repeated or continuous water leakage and seepage "

I think you've answered your own question, but in the end it will come down to two things:

1. What will the claim documentation show? If you make a claim with your insurance company, you have to document it with photos, official damage reports and estimates from the condo management and local repair companies. Will they say that, in their opinion, the damage was caused by long-term water leakage and seepage?

2. If the claim is significant, the insurer will undoubtedly want their own local estimator to take a look. What will they discover and report?

The “brother in law”. Is the OP!

New thread idea

“Hi guys... my friend’s brother in law was playing with fire works in the living room. The house burned down. He left the pile of ashes there for 12 years. He never got around to the paper work bc he lazy. Is there any way for him to get his money back?

This is for my friend’s cousin”

“Wait. Didnt you say it was your friends brother in law?”

“Yes! Yes i did...” *shifty eyes*

“Ok they gotta call the insurance company.”

“Okay. I will call them myself! I mean... my cousin will call...”

“Wait... didnt you say it was your friends brother in law!”

“Yes. Thats right. Egg actly.” *shifty eyes*

plumber found no issues ...now I'm wondering why it was on the onus of my bro in law to hire the plumber and not the unit below? who I assume is making the complaint ? balance of probabilities?

Should have been up to the condo property management to identify where the leak is coming from.
