Has anyone received the increased CCB yet announced as part of COVID relief package?

You have to apply for it. It is not just automatic. (we are fortunate enough we do not need it. I was scared that it was automatic with tax implications) Also, you WILL be taxed on it at the end of the year.

Can you tell me how to apply. I googled but couldnt find the link. I thought it was automatic like the Ontario provincial one time $200 (which I received).
Every month I receive CCB on 20th. But I did not receive the increased amount neither in Mar or Apr.

Families that are entitled to receive the CCB for April 2020 and still have an eligible child in their care in May 2020 will get up to $300 extra per child as part of their regular May 2020 payment. This is a one-time increase to the May 2020 CCB payment for the 2019-2020 benefit year (July 2019 to June 2020).

There is no place to submit, it seems automatic.

Son of a bitch. I swore we had to apply for it. I don't want it. Like even a little bit.

Funny we did not receive it. (but we also did not apply for the school strike payouts either)

You did not receive it in March or April and you will not receive it in June or July because it is supposed to be a one-time special payment for MAY.

Well it depends how many kids you have. With 3+ it phases out a bit higher than $200k. Or at least this is how the regular payment works.

Why would you not want it? I don't think people should apply for things they don't need and certainly not for things they don't qualify for but if you are doing well financially despite this and receive something you can help out a family member or frankly save for a rainy day because you could be next. Nobody is immune.

You don’t need to apply for it. It will be automatically applied to your MAY payment.

How do you know if you qualify for the increase? I checked the CRA account online and the amount is the same for (May, expected) as the prior months.

You likely won't see the update until closer to May 20.

300$ per child is that x12 (19-20 tax year ) or is that 300$ per child x 1 (one time, one month payment )? Slightly confusing

I’m not disputing the one payment. The part where it says for the 2019-2020 benefit year. That’s the confusing part.

It's a one-off payment.
