Covid19 stopped spending

home to work March 19th 2020.
No driving no gas no drinks, snacks etc.
I try to buy a new ipad but realize it the same as my old iPad.
Restaurants are not very good and I do not miss them.
I buy stocks and nothing else.
I am 55 and have everything.3 homes, 2 cars, investments.
I am now in Retirement mode at 55.

Was there a question here or just bragging?

How much will your pension be? why people counting cars as assets, but not stove, air conditioner? They all will go down in value.

Congratulations, you figured out that purchasing goods does not provide happiness. Now that you're retired, what are you doing with your day? Giving back, spending time on things you love and charity is the key to happiness.

Government provides for everyone now I have cut my charity spending to almost zero.
Wife and family is the key.
Wife and I are still hoping to be packaged out quitting is not RFD way.
I used to be interested in cars and love looking at autotrader but have no need.
Before I buy I ask do I really need and the answer is usually no.

Love the "almost brag" post.
I don't need 3 homes and I'm thinking I can retire 15 years before you, and by retire I mean actually retire and not just be in the "mode" but still go to work.

Anyhow. Way to go! Materialism isn't everything.

Not sure I would call this living, maybe just breathing and pooping.

The pandemic has definitely recalibrated the spending. I have never spent so little on fuel. I have never spent so much on electricity. Work from home, exercise from home, cook from home gear have landed on the shopping list. Overall basic needs cost is down.

Sounds to me like you're already financially set, why wait for a package? You can always make more money but your time and especially your time in good health is finite. Cars are cars, they'll get you where you're going if you have a Ford or a Ferrari (please don't flame me car lovers!) and when we aren't using them much it seems normal that you'd have less interest in them but having an impact on the things that matter is what will bring you fulfillment.

Covid sucks, and feeling down is just a normal response to it... I know I am feeling down as well. Hold your head up and remember that family gatherings and travel will be possible again once the lockdown ends.
