CRA job selection pool of qualified candidates

anyone that works/worked at CRA know what the chances are (and when) of being called in for the job? also if nothing comes up in the year (or if job is only temporary and the person says no to it) do they have to reapply and do interviews/references/,etc. again?

The selection board recently finished the assessment of all candidates for the

above-noted selection process.

We are pleased to inform you that you met the required assessment criteria for the position.

As a result, you have been found qualified and you will be eligible for consideration in the placement stage of this selection process as vacancies arise.

I applied for a Taxpayer Services Agent position back in 2008. They called me in to do the tests and interview in summer 2009, and then called me last week to tell me I got the job. I've had two jobs since I first applied for the position, but for some reason the CRA wanted me to drop everything I was doing and start in two weeks from the date of their call. They even gave me one whole day to make up my mind. Needless to say, I turned them down.

Don't hold your breath in the hopes they'll call you anytime soon.

Similar experience here, (except for the hiring part).

I applied to the Auditor Apprenticeship Program in Sept. 2010. They scheduled me for 2 tests, and an interview in Nov/Dec. 2010. I've been contacted to send my transcripts/driver's licence for processing in mid June 2011, and in late July 2011, I've been told I'd be pooled until March 2012. I've already had 2 different jobs since then, but in my case, I would accept any pernament offer from them in a HEARTBEAT. Nothing beats federal jobs in terms of stability and L/T well being.

To whomever is working with the Agency now, what is the working environment like, turn over rate, stress level and if it is hectic in call volume.

Applied for the collections contact officer, and I did ask them if this would be a temp jobs, interviewer told me it is a temp job from 3-6 months. I was also reading some other post on the forums...some one got the offer for example november, then got the call during december. Keeping our fingers crossed..

Anybody know how to go about applying for this? Do I have to apply for open posting or is there a general application?

Typically there is an expiry date on fully assessed pools. If you've been placed in a pool of fully assessed candidates and the end date of the pool is reached, you're out of luck.

Wife was successfully placed in the Collection Contact Officer pool back in 2010. About a month ago she received a letter to mention that the Pool would be extended an extra year (2013).
Two weeks later she got a call from a CRA office in our town and was offered a contract. She starts Monday!!

Anyone have any experience in this position with CRA?

I got into the CS pool at CRA in August. Was asked to go meet one of the hiring managers in September, and was subsequently offered the position a couple weeks ago. Whole thing took much less time than I thought it would.

Yes. I don't think CRA recruits permanent employees right off the bat
