If you can afford to drop $200 on 4 knives (I am not at all trying to say that they are not worth the price), you can afford to pay $20 for shipping.

Paying for shipping on a basket over $100 is an automatic nope for me, unless the item is really niche
Let's hug it out

Just curious if you would classify this as a hot deal if the price was $220 + free shipping? Is another retailer selling this knife set for less than. $220?

Both of you are right and wrong.

Congratulations, you are tied.

I have many knives including 3 Globals. When you sharpen them they are incredible, but they are high maintenance! Never thought I would say that, but as an every day knife, just get the Kiwi knife fr 10$. I even put my Kiwi in the dishwasher and it's been doing great for years!

Handles are super thin on globals, so if you’re coming from wusthof or henckel be warned. Personally they didn’t fit nicely in my hands. I have Misono UX10, which are fantastic.

Alternatively if you don’t mind waiting until May, the G2 is $85 on amazon right now.

1: Chef knife. Useful.
2: Bread knife. Useful
3. Paring Knife. Useful.
4:Utility Knife: Situational.

3 of the 4 are primary knives.

Really depends on lifestyle. Bread knife is not useful as some people just buy sliced bread. For me, it's really just one knife for meat, one knife to slice some apples.

I will go further and say that serrated knives aren't useful if you have sharp knives. So that's 2/4 in this set that id never use.
