CraveTV - Last Day for $71.91 per year

Deal Link:
Price:
$71.91
Expiry:
June 24, 2018
Retailer:
Cravetv
Crave TV is Bell's version of a Netflix type service. if you pay for a year, it costs roughly 6 dollars a month plus tax. You get a ton of HBO content (almost all the old HBO shows, Game of Thrones Seasons 1 - 6, Sopranos, Deadwood, The Wire. Also new shows like Billions, Handmaid's Tale, The Affair etc. Most of the James Bond movies are there, as well as a bunch of other content. Video quality is not as good as Netflix, it seems to be maxed out at 720p, but for $6 a month with a ton of HBO content, I think this is still a good deal.

Supported devices include Apple TV, Xbox One. Unfortunately the PS3, PS4 is not supported (Why?) You can also watch on your PC in a browser or on your Droid phone, and Cast it to your Chromecast.

So what's the deal? Today is the last day to sign up for a Crave TV trial, and lock in the $71.91 yearly rate, plus tax, for 12 months. Starting tomorrow, June 25, the yearly rate is increasingly significantly to $89 plus tax. After 12 months you will have to pay the $89 plus tax to continue the service. If you don't like the service you can cancel before your 30 day trial is up, and not pay anything.

So if you have any interest in the service, sign up today and save roughly $18, or 25%. I need a new user to confirm this works, as I've been a Crave subscriber for 2 years.

I am a Netflix and Crave subscriber and those two services give me a ton of content, I have no need for Cable TV. I pay roughly $20 a month for the two services.

You will need to subscribe through Bell...

I can see there's five device limit here. But how many simultaneous connections does Crave allow? I guess not ugh as I've never seen a group buy request for crave tv unlike Netflix

I had this for a bit. Found the Chromecast function far less polished than Netflix. Still was nice in colder months . Now it's summer, who has time to watch anything?

Existing customers should have a promo code that gives an extra 20% off, making it around $52 for your next 12 months, once your existing subscription ends

Where did you see this? I have a promo code that will lock in the current yearly price of $71.97 for your next renewal.

Thanks OP! Today being a rainy day where I am, the timing couldn't be better.

Lots of people will compare this with Netflix and choose Netflix, probably in large part because Netflix was really the first streaming service and has a large catalog of content (including a lot of good original content from the last few years) but I've found that if you've had Netflix for a few years and watch a good amount, you end up running out of things to watch. I think I canceled my subscription for two years, and only recently went back to find that I haven't missed out on all that much so I'm close to canceling again.

As for Crave, I've seen some of the big legacy HBO shows in the past (Sopranos, Sex and the City, The Wire, Entourage, Girls, Curb Your Enthusiasm) but Crave has a ton of lesser-known stuff that I have heard good things about or seen a bit of that I'd like to see more of, like some Comedy Central stuff including Nathan for You, Workaholics, Key and Peele, some HBO documentaries like The Defiant Ones, and some HBO shows I missed like Treme, Deadwood, Eastbound and Down, The Larry Sanders Show.

Canadian winters are long, and for me there's certainly more than a year's worth of back catalog content to choose from. For $70 this will probably pay for itself quickly.
