Credit Card Insurance Comparison Spreadsheet

Made this a long time ago, been updating it recently as I start to get excited about travel again. (Hopefully more possible in the next few months). Figured I'd post it publicly now as there have been some questions about it lately. It's useful as a quick comparison about what to book/buy what on if you have various cards, and as a guide as to what cards to apply to use in the future.

It covers most of the best cards in canada, and a couple of the best US ones which Canadians can get. Hardly any cards with low or $0 annual fee cards have insurance so not included, But a few do especially now we have more world elite options than ever, so I added those at the bottom.
I checked several cards that I had recently to see if anything changed, but not everything so let me know if anythings out of date. Bold entries are best for that category.

Thanks. This is very useful for me as insurance is one criteria high on my list. Am looking at other options and have used BMO AM world elite insurance once and they came thru on a delayed return to Canada from NY a few years ago.

Am considering cashback cards as AM have been devalued since then.

Thanks OP.

There might be some updates needed. Your info for trip interruption/cancellation for the Rogers WE, for example, is incorrect:

$1000 per person to a max of $5000 for both

It might also be worth noting how much has to be charged to the card. Some of the cards only require some of the trip to be charged to the card, some require 75%, and some require 100%. That might not matter for most people, but we actually use airline gift cards pretty frequently.

A similar spreadsheet was started in the Capital 1 Aspire thread as well: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... kDmbI/edit

This looks very similar to the doc and thread that @efrant posted two years ago

You two should put your heads (and threads) together, you both have awesome info!

Fixed the rogers trip/cancellation.

Yea efrants is basically the same, mine's just got more cards, and more compact with a couple different categories. No issues if he wants to import the extra cards I got into his. We could maybe merge them too, though I prefer the more compact setup I have without categories that I don't think are really relevant. Maybe we can just do two tabs on the same sheet.
I'll admit my template came from a US site and I just erased most and filled in canadian data.
