Credit Karma says I deactivated my account

Recently I was unable to login to my Credit Karma account. When I tried to login, it said there was no account associated with my email address.

After contacting their customer support, Credit Karma claims I deactivated my account. Their email states "After review, it appears you elected to deactivate your account. Once a Credit Karma Canada account has been deactivated, you must wait 6 months before you're eligible to register for another account."

I never deactivated my account at any point. Any idea what's going on? I don't particularly care about the Credit Karma account, just want to make sure my information is not compromised. I shot off another email to Credit Karma asking for more details but I doubt I'll get more info from them.

Create another account, login and check your credit history. This time ensure password is solid and enable any strong security enhancements they have. Quite possibly someone has your credentials or personal info from previous hack somewhere.
