How the hell are you getting into the US via the land border just to pick up packages? Are you a dual citizen?

Wondering myself how you were able to enter the USA to pick up packages.

They're right, it is a weird story.

I've read a few posts about how they're not too strict on letting people into the US, and reasons such as "picking up packages" being accepted.

This part seemed odd though since it goes against the protocols listed on the website.:
I was told to get a Covid test because my second dose was done just 14 days ago. (need to be 15 days in order to be exempt from Covid test & quarantine)
As far as being flagged, I'd say it's 50/50.

Don't they have to tell you if you're flagged so you can dispute it to clear things up?

And yeah, I had no idea there were exceptions right now for package pick up. WTF...

She may have been allowed to enter because she was picking up a medical device?

Looks like they created an account to post this question and now they got their answer, I doubt you'll get an answer to your question lol.

Grrrr … I so frickin hate that RFD let’s this happen

It’s one thing to modify / post an UPDATE

Entirely another to have users come along and DELETE posts entirely
.

.
I could have contributed info here that the OP may have found valuable
Now … what’s the point ?

Usually people will quote the original post and multiple times as well. Odd that nobody did it.

This is something I’ve raised to @TomRFD

Hopefully something they can look into as we see it more and more.

FWIW, it wasn't really worth quoting. A mostly incoherent ramble about picking up a motorized wheelchair motor and some shoes, returning the motor, returning to the Canadian border, going back to the US side because they were one day shy on 14 days since their second dose, something about a border guard being confused about not bringing the motor back since they didn't have a receipt, etc.

i can say from my experience, you CAN cross over to shop. the US side isn't a butt hurt mess like ontario side is. our province is spreading lies about stuff to keep us all scared and afraid to do things. but i can say from my experience crossing the other day that i had no issues getting across.

the only problem i had was that i wasn't sure i would be able to cross, so i didn't notify the parcel place to have them in the lockers. i had to spend basically the whole day there waiting till my request was seen. coming back was another ordeal in itself as normally i get the 20 questions about what i bought, where i went and how come i was so long at this place or that one. i was secondary inspected, but then i saw A LOT of people in secondary so i don't know if thats also a scare tactic to hassle and annoy us from trying to cross again.

i'm not one to be intimidated by a couple minimum wage wanna be security idiots so i would question their questions and not comply on some stuff asked, so i was there quite a while as well (crossed around 8am , back in my driveway at roughly 1am). stuff i was asking them they couldn't answer because they honestly didn't know and were trying to make it sound like that's not my concern to avoid looking like bafoons. (if you can tell i despise these clowns and make it known while there if i have a couple of them that think they are canada's first line of defense.... they are jokes all way around).

so i would say if you have never had ANY issues with crossing back previously before covid and have a full day to play their games returning then go for it.

if you are picking up parcels then it's a tough call as you don't know if you will be allowed to cross (everyone has that YMMV to it) to have the parcel place have yours ready or not.... my concern was multiple handling of my parcels could result in some getting mixed up or stolen. but if you are going over to shop at the outlets, walmart etc. then you should be ok.

oh, before anyone asks... i do have dual citizenship but that was never hit on during secondary and wouldn't have mattered since i'm american before canadian and that would have been their sweet spot to really screw me if they wanted to.

as well, nobody over there are wearing masks or being a nuisance to you. i don't know where videos of that are from but i can say it's like covid never happened over in the buffalo area. i was able to go into and sit down at restaurants, nobody was counting at the doors monitoring capacity.... no nothing ! so what you are seeing on the news is fake government staged sh!t to scare and control. the US border patrol weren't rude or bullish like the ontario ones are. just wanted to clarify that and compare what i noticed while across compared to here at home.

i think the new slogan for our province needs to be "ontario, welcome to dictatorship !"
no matter where you go, there you are.
