CRW GT1 rims from Canadian Tire

Does anyone know anything about this company? I've tried googling but it's giving me an unrelated company. Can't find any certification related to them... Canadian Tire has them on sale and they look pretty good. (https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/wheels/p ... 10675.html)

If anyone has information about CRW it would be greatly appreciated

Your typical Chinese made replica wheel. Could be a brand only sold at Canadian Tire so that's why no outside reviews. For to and from work and grocery getting purposes you should be fine but for people who drive hard or have a performance car I wouldn't recommend but those people wouldn't be looking at these anyways.

Would you recommend costco's brand C-wheels over the CRW?

I doubt there is much difference from the Costco made in China replicas and the CT ones. Costco ones you'll see more reviews just because it is Costco. Check who offers better warranty and go with those. I read China has a huge industrial park that only manufacture wheels and many of the made in China wheels come from there.

Yeah I don't mind they're made in china because 99% of things is made there anyway, their bad reputation is probably because of the abundance of wallmart and dollarama MIC.

@sickcars They don't have flow formed ones that fit my car (17x7), just gravity cast ones. Then I would rather get costco wheels for the warranty and peace of mind

Saw these CRW GT1 Alloy Wheel for 20% off at Canadian Tire. Ordered a set for a Honda CRV to use for winter.

Any impressions, did you get them?

I read that some people had to get narrower lug nuts to fit. Any comments on that?

I ended up going for the costco wheels because they've always had dependable products. Haven't mounted them yet, I'll update this thread when winter nears about how it all goes

Did you buy narrower lug nuts for your Honda?

I ordered a set of CRW GT1 Alloy wheels from CT for my 2021 RAV4 Hybrid XLE. Took them to Costco where I had ordered Blizzak winter tires but Costco said my Toyota lug nuts would not fit the new wheels. I needed "tuner lugs".

Back to Canadian Tire and after a lot of confusion, bought a White Knight Spline Wheel Lock Kit #77380FR, with a black extender. The package says "12mm-1.50", can anyone confirm this is the size I need?

Thanks!

You'll need a set of conical lug nuts otherwise referred to as tuner lug nuts so they seat properly on the aftermarket wheels. OEM use ball seat lug nuts which won't seat properly on the aftermarket wheels this is what the shop is talking about and sent you out to buy Toyota thread pitch is 12x1.50 as you already know.

Toyota already uses 60deg acorn cone lug nuts, so you should have been able to use the original ones. It's possible you need a narrowed lug nut for these wheels compared to the OEM though, the white knight ones will work.
12mmx1.50 is correct.

Honda uses some weird round ball seat style lug nut, I had to but some acorn ones for the CRW wheels. I bought a black set off amazon, easy to tell which is which since they are different colors than my OEM ones.

I believe Costco can't use the original Toyota lug nuts on CRW GT1 wheel not because how they are seated (acorn or ball seat) on the wheel, but because they are too wide and doesn't fit in the narrow lug-nut holes in the wheel.
I have 2020 Highlander and same as @mrct1944, I bought Bridgestone Blizzak winter tires from Costco and found that their third-party wheel company C-Wheels has pretty bad reputation. So I bought 18x8 CRW GT1 wheels from Canadian tire that had 4.5/5 ratings.
After seeing this thread, I took out a lug nut and a wheel-lock nut from my highlander and checked how they fit into CRW wheel.
The wheel lock nut (Acorn) seem to fit-in perfectly in the narrow wheel lug-nut hole. But other 4 regular Toyota lug-nuts (also Acorn/Tapered) seem to be too wide and doesn't go in the lug-nut well.
To make things worse, the original Toyota lug-nut wrench is also too wide for the hole and cannot reach the nut.

So I also will need to buy a new set of lug nuts and extender socket.

Wheels fit perfectly, ride height is about the same. These are 17x7 on 225/55R17 blizzaks.

Another pic to give a better idea of the overall size

Wow happy I saw this thread. Does anyone know if vw lug nuts for alloys will work with these?

Not sure but I'm using These which are great on my R. Some aftermarket wheels you will need to buy different bolts which is not a big deal.

They have different colours. FastWheels makes some good wheels for the price.
