Curacao in April?

If you don't dive or do water sports, the ABC Islands/Leeward Antilles won't have much for you. All these islands are based on having unique and easy to reach scuba diving. Despite Curacao's small size, you'll need a car to get around unless you stay at the Sunscape.

Food is the same price as here. Although Curacao has its own currency, the USD seems to be the defacto currency of choice.

You can go see the Queen Emma pontoon bridge, have lunch beside their famous skyline, then walk across to the Rif fort for some browsing and shopping. Then have a Starbucks...

All the beaches except the 2 at Hilton Curacao are public but have admission fees. We drove nearly an hour to Playa Cas Abao, named as one of the most beautiful beaches in the Carribean by Conde Nast magazine and was underwhelmed. The admission fee, lack of parking and very expensive concessions makes me think someone paid off the editor at Conde Nast.

The ABC islands are special municipalities of the Netherlands, so no one is desperately poor and everything on the islands are priced accordingly.

Keep an eye out for Spring package deals. Last year there was a $549 hotel/flight package from Air Canada. (YYZ deals). At that price I would consider it.
