Curb stop sticking out

I m in GTA. Forever the curb stop has been sticking out of the ground. It s about 4 - 5 inches off the ground. If i call 311 will i have to pay to get it flush to ground?

Picture? If it's on city property and a hazard they should take care of it.

Here in Montreal, my neighbor has one that sticks 6 inches out from her walkway. The walkway is on city property and all they do is come by and spray paint it yellow or orange.

Just get a mallet and pound it down yourself. I understand it's telescopic.

You can call the city and they should come out and pound it down fr you, tell them it’s a tripping hazard.
Or do it your self, put a block of wood on the cap, and with a sledgehammer pound it down.

Just an FYI frost pushes these things up.

Call the City, get them to deal with it. There should not be a charge.

If you do anything and damage it, they are going to charge you for it.

when you say curb stop do u mean the underground water shutoff to your house is sticking out of your driveway? pound it down or call the local municipality (the city almost never handles water unless your city has been amalgamated like Toronto)

It's the City's property. Call them to adjust the height.

A photo is always helpful.
In fact in Rand McNally they wear hats on their feet and hamburgers eat people

If curb stop = water shutoff, call the city and they will come out and pound it down. I wouldn't do it myself just in case something happens.

Yes....b.c. if something goes wrong, you're liable. If they do it and something goes wrong, they have the ability to mobilize resources ie call another dept/manager.

if it is the water shutoff you referring to, like others say, pound it down. I'm not that strong, I just put a wood plank on it and then drive over the plank with my car, works every time and I have to do it annually during springtime
