CuriosityStream is awesome, but it's not for everyone. If you like Discovery Science or the Smithsonian Channel, this is for you. The programming is high-quality, but you have to be in the mood for educational content.

There is an option to subscribe for $59.99 USD to access specific content in Ultra HD and 4K, but I've tried and there is not nearly enough of this high-rez content to warrant the cost.

Short 15-30 second ads will play before a program, but they will never interrupt a program you are watching. I had an old subscription that used to have no commercials, but this ad-based cost was so much cheaper, I switched.

$20 USD to expand your mind for the next 13 months is a steal - also, might be a great Christmas gift for an aspiring student.

Can I cancel right away, so it doesn't renew after the 1 year ?

I would suspect so as I have cancelled a subscription in the past and it said to enjoy content until the expiration date.

Thanks for sharing this! This kind of content is what Discovery Channel, History Channel, National Geographic Channel, use to be.

Any idea on if they have an app on Samsung's Smart TV platform?

I'm not sure - I have a Sony TV that has the Google Play store embedded. If your Samsung TV has the Play store you should be able to install the app. Try downloading the app and report back!

HEADS UP: I purchased the $19 year package. What they dont tell you is it is in USD and fees, etc. Cost me $29 CAD total when I was told I'd be paying $19

Thanks, I updated my post to reflect this. I did just go to the site and it is pretty obvious now that it will be billed in USD. Perhaps they changed this if they were having issues.

Also, were there fees were in addition to the standard exchange rate on a CC? I haven’t experienced that in the past.
