Cursor disappeared

I have a 6+ years old Lenovo Yoga 2 laptop. Out of the blue the cursor using the touch pad stopped. The touch screen still work. I've already updated the drivers and even did a Windows reset. I suspect not much can be done about this but I thought I'd ask anyways. This is just my backup laptop (I have a newer one) but this one still works relatively well for browsing, etc. Is there anything else I can try?

Cursor disappeared is likely a software bug, and you should try rolling back the driver to when it last worked (after you reboot of course, since sometimes it's temporary - happens occasionally on my Asus laptop).

Cursor not responding to touchpad (frozen cursor) is likely a hardware failure. Your could open up the laptop and check that the touchpad plug has not come loose, but that may be a tricky operation that could cause more problems than it cures on some laptops.

Plug in a mouse and see if it works. If it does then it sounds like your touchpad is broken and not that the cursor is not appearing.

After the reset the cursor started moving on its own intermittently. I just disabled the touchpad. Between the touchscreen and keyboard I can manage without it. Things on laptop have stopped - started with the camera and now the touchpad. 6 years of extensive use, this laptop has held up pretty good.
