[Dairy Queen] DQ Miracle Day (Aug 8)

I think it's a great day to buy a Blizzard - especially knowing that the net proceeds are going to the Children's Miracle Network.

I'm just buying a couple for keeping at home, and knowing the money is going to a good place.

I freeze my blizzards if I don't want to eat it all, its doesn't thaw out 100% the same but its decent, I wouldn't buy it to freeze.

That doesn't change what happens to the fries when frozen, defrosted and reheated

I mean, it's not good ice cream to start with. Just a little bit harder the next day/week/month.

Great post for a great foundation, but definitly posted in the wrong forum, there is obviously no hot deal there to buy...

Just had to post in the right thread. Mods will move it

Not a hot deal, but is a decent way to make a charitable donation.

I have cheesecake, chocolate chip cookies, tiramisu and chocolate mousse in the lunch room at work right now though, so no Blizzard for me today.

I was hoping for a miracle of free blizzard. Oh well.

I'd rather make direct donations to the charities, than going through the merchants.

CEO only gets paid 579k. Gonna take a lot of blizzards to pay for that.

That's even if you do manage to get them home without eating them first. There's no way I'd be able to pull that off.

Blizzards are certainly not cheap and without the buy one get one free promos they run every so often, it certainly is an indulgement. They also never fill the ice cream up and you're usually missing a third of it after it's mixed. Mc Donald's at least tops it up and I can't imagine it being that expensive to them.

As others have mentioned, a better alternative is to volunteer or donate the money directly to those causes that you know are not scams.

If you deep fry them again they'd probably be decent but I still agree with your premise.

I have done my part and contributed four blizzards to the miracle network. Not gonna expect a call from the ceo.
