I see no condition that purchase is required.

Got a large Misty Slush with last month's coupons in BC - the slush was really gross, at least the blue raspberry flavour. Got it from Pacific Centre in Vancouver and threw it out after 2 sips.

I would personally rather pay $1 for a slurpee than drink the misty slush for free, but YMMV.
