Dampers on each end of kitchen/dryer vent?

The exterior wall caps for each vent have built in dampers. I'm just wondering if it's worthwhile or counterproductive to add additional inline dampers near the dryer/range hood?

I already have them, butterfly dampers that go inside the rigid duct. But now I'm not sure if it's a good idea.

It's about a 5/7 foot horizontal run.

What would you be hoping to achieve by doing so? How often are you going to adjust them?

Not an adjustable damper. Butterfly damper so that air doesn't go the wrong way through the vents.
