[DealsMachine.com] Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 16gb TDD - $158.93 CAD + Shipping

http://www.dealsmachine.com/best_291023.html

Cheapest price I've seen on this

I believe this works on Rogers/Fido 2G,3G, and 4G (2600mhz areas only), 3G on Bell, 3G/4G Telus. DOES NOT WORK ON WIND! Correct me if I'm wrong.

EDIT: I forgot to add the shipping cost

Bell/Telus share the same network, 4G on Bell also.
Yes, does not work on Wind.

Telus uses AWS frequencies for LTE, not supported by this phone. Also note: Bell's 2600MHZ LTE coverage isn't very good. Rogers has decent coverage, but Bell's definitely isn't great.

Oh - and as for "huge risk" because they don't take Paypal? Not really - DealsMachine has been around for a good while now. They're a reputable seller - at least as reputable as any of these Chinese gadget stores are.

Oooh, that's good news for Telus folks wanting to buy Chinese phones. Though you're still stuck with Bell's crappy band 7 coverage.

Already a big thread on this:

everbuying-xiaomi-redmi-note-2-16-gb-wh ... d-1870425/

- Been that price for a while. If you add shipping and tracking#, same price as Everbuying (which has better cust. service).
- Phone is backorder everywhere. Don't expect your order to be filled/shipped before Jan. 2016.

If you go with surface shipping, you're unlikely to get dinged with tax/brokerage fees. But it'll likely take a month to get here. If you go with DHL/"express" shipping, you will 99% for certain get hit with sales tax on the declared value, plus DHL's $14 in brokerage fees.

Yeah but this looks like the only place that has it in stock still?

Just because they say they have it in stock, doesn't mean that they actually do. Chinese stores are notorious for listing items as in stock that they don't actually have (********, I'm looking in your direction).

I've bought an Xiaomi Note 3 from Aliexpress for 270ish CAD for 32gb. (Plus through Ebates, 5% Cashback). The reviews are okay, the seller's rating is okay and I hope this is okay.
Has anyone experienced with it yet?

Otherwise, any other recommendation for "budgeted smartphones"?
I've heard of Blu Smartphones but aren't too certain about them. Thoughts?

I just purchased a redmi note2 from Gateway just last month. Ships from Singapore. Total ship time was 3 weeks. Packaged using a rectangular bubble wrap sleeve.

I just ordered another unit.
