Delay for charges on Credit Card

I made a purchase on my credit card for a few thousand dollars and the item was delivered already. My credit card hasn't been charged yet, and my available credit on my card is still full limit. The purchase was made 1 week ago. I understand that there might be a delay for the charges to appear on my credit card, but why would my full credit limit remain unchanged. In the past I have made purchases and my available credit would be decreased without the charge showing. I bank with TD and my visa is with TD as well.

Call the toll free number on the back of the CC and ask TD.

It's free! Wait another week and see what happens. Either the charge will appear or the merchant will be calling.

Once a merchant had obtained a successful authorization on your card, they have at least 6 months to deposit the transaction (might be longer but I'm not sure).

Even if your account is closed or maxed out, the transaction will still be posted and you will still be responsible for paying it.
