The only thing I wasn't fond of was the build quality. it's all plastic and it didn't feel premium, othrewise the 5000 series is a decent laptop. I guess at this price point, you shouldn't be too picky, but I decided to return it and get something else.

For the average person, i would say it's quality is more than adaquate. Great return policy if you need it.

I would say this is a pretty solid deal, not super hot, but a good deal.

Relative to some of the deals lately this is not that great of a deal, especially leading into BF pricing.

Lenovo has had some very good deals lately -- their flex 14 is pretty sick (maybe still available? Check the thread) and I grabbed their BF preview IdeaPad S340 15.6" 3500U (for ~$520 before tax, after Rakuten rebates).

Many BF deals can beat this price. Suggest to wait until BF.

Good specs from a good manufacturer, Dell. Much better than most of the HP crap that is out there.
