[Dell] $946 Dell G5 - i5 10400F, 8GB RAM, RX 5700, 256GB SSD

Edit: cashback from Rak is down to 8% now so it will be around $1003 instead of $946

Today only with 14% cashback and uniday code OR 10% email sign up code.
If you don't have uniday access like I do, and email sign up codes usually take 3 days to arrive, you can use $50off$1000pc code. Not as good but still a discount.

($1199 - 10%) * 0.86 = $946 before Ontario tax
If you live in other provinces tax rate may calculate differently.

I also have 10% cashback from credit card so it's another $122 off.

You can also get $33 for Dell rewards that expire in 90 days.

Because of the 10% Amex cash back bonus, I think my total was $807 before tax. Considering the RX 5700 retails for $550-$600 if you are lucky enough to even find one, I thought this was a steal.

This is the video card it comes with and it apparently runs cooler than AMDs own reference design:

This deal doesn't.
I think the deal is with Rakuten and Ubidays... You can play around with the configuration to get the specs you need. Oh well, as I always say, it's better to have a report than not. In any case thanks to OP for posting it.

I appreciate your opinion but I think there are at least 6-7 threads with Dell 14% Rak and unidays right now :P

Honestly I am buying it just to take the graphics card out and use it in my current system as it fits my budget and what I need it for.

I don't have time to camp around online for a RX 5700 to be restocked and the street price for an used one without warranty is outrageously more expensive than this whole system, if there is one for sale at all.

Granted this OEM card isn't the kind of Sapphire Nitro+ level but it games Fortnite at nearly 300 fps and 60 Celsius with immediate availability is good enough for me. Fans seem quiet according to the YouTube reviewer in my OP.

I considered doing that but what am I going to do with the rest of the system? Sell it back out with my AMD 7950 that is collecting dust? I don’t think many would buy such a system.

Pop in an old GPU and sell it as an office desktop.

I bought an Alienware for around $1,700 with GTX 3080 and Ryzen 7 3700X.

I swapped the GPU out with my old RX580 and replace the half TB NVME with a 1TB SSD (Sata) and sold it for almost a thousand.

How does this card compare to GeForce?

That's smart. Also how did you manage to snatch such a system for $1700?!! That's an amazing deal.

This G5 with an old GPU is a lot beefier than the most basic Inspiron desktop which is listed for $500 on Dell.ca so I am pretty sure if I want to get rid of it I can sell it for at least $400. The processor alone is worth $200. But I will just give it to my dad as he can use an upgrade to ...browse Facebook and watch Netflix with.

I think it's competing with and slightly better than the RTX 2070.
My budget is $1000 for an AMD card that allows me to play Fortnite at 300fps and, most importantly, I can buy it right now and not 6 months in the future that requires luck and comes with frustrations. So this fits the bill :)

On another note, I'm interested in getting this for the GPU. Too bad I didn't pull the trigger with 14% cash back

Right now it looks like
1200
-120 10% off
------------------
1079.99
-8% cash back
----------------
993.6

no taxes since it would be a business purchase

How much do you think I could sell this without a GPU, or with an old GPU like the GTX 670 I have laying around?
If I could sell for 500-600, that would make for a very cheap 5700 purchase after the hassle of selling it....

For those who have ordered, what are your shipping dates? Think there's any chance of getting a cancellation credit @redflagdealsguy ?

Have buyer remorse on the 3060 for 250$ above the 5700, even if hashrate is about the same for the cards...

Please comfort my choice

At an extra $1.17/day , it would take 213.67 days for you to earn back that extra $250. And that's assuming BTC price stays high, which is not a given. This is based off of the nicehash calculator using $0.0938/kwh which is the rate you'd pay in quebec after your first 40kwh of the day.

I guess it depends on how much you can sell the rest of the PC for. If you sell it for 500, you still basically got a 3060ti for under $500, which is insane in 2021... and I think you might be able to sell the PC for 600 (guesstimate).

Sooo IDK. The 5700 seems like the better choice in the context of this deal. But it's still a steal if you can get a 3060ti and sell the rest of the PC for a good price.

On the other hand, if crypto crashes and you want to sell the 3060ti, you are probably a lot more likely to get a good resale value out of the 3060ti than the 5700.

Thanks wrapped my head around the 5700 which I can repay faster. I plan on keeping the whole PC anyway. I'll just drop settings in games which I don't even see the difference...

LOL. Come on you need to be able to flex fps with your Fortnite buddies.

Yes. And my point was that in the other deal you CANNOT unselect the mechanical HDD. So you have no choice but to pay $50 to buy it which I don't think a lot of people still wanting to get one in 2021.
