[Dell] Alienware 38 ultrawide AW3821DW $1,499.99 & Alienware 27 AW2721D $949.99 + ADDITIONAL 10% off

If you want a monitor that is from reputative brand, has 3 year warranty, has G-SYNC ULTIMATE module (And not custom AMD sync module that majority brands are branding it as G-SYNC Compatible ), then these monitors are for you.

I believe these are on sale as per CES2022. New lineup with be OLED with improved ms latency. Personally i was debating if i should have waited for these models, but lets be realistic. These are going to be expensiveeee. That said, this was the next best thing.

Other:
Both monitors are unique, however i have decided to go with 27' version due to FPS games. Some of the games stretch field of view thus adding fish eye effect, some dont have proper support and other reasons can be utilization of neck more frequently. I don't know about you, but i had to move it all the time to see that health bar in one corner, mini map on other one, ammo in 3rd and so on. It was extremally hard decision for me because i liked the idea of HYBRID monitor for both work and home. Since there is no HDMI 2.1 or USB-C/Thunderbolt i knew that my work laptop would never be able to output 10bit colors or high refresh rate due to connection limitation.

Coupon:
On Dell's website there is additional 10% coupon which i didn't believe that i was able to apply:
10%OFFMONITOR

OTHER POTENTIAL SAVING:
Check with your employer if they have Heath and Spending account. They may be able to cover some of the monitor cost. This can be anywhere from 100$ to 700$+

Cheers!

Wasn't it cheaper during BF/boxing Day with the rakuten 10% CB? (Notably AW3821DW)

Edit: boxing Day was 1399 +12% cash back. This is not so hot.

Dell has changed the 10%OFFMONITOR code so that it no longer works with sale items.

Dell 49" with USB-C U4919DW is $1589 in some other retailers. Isn't it better vs this 38" alienware monitor?

Strange. I know monitors on sale for more than boxing day where the coupon no longer works.

YMMV I guess!

I just tried the code and it's working fine on that 27'' one, brings the price done to 854.99 CAD.

The code never works for the 38” one, and always works for the other ones.

I'll be selling my 38" right before the QD-OLED comes out. That screen can't come out soon enough. If anyone in Winnipeg wants the 38 incher let me know.

QD-Oled looks nice so far but yes the price will be sky high.
I'm looking forward to the 42" LG OLED... since the 48" is under $1500
I'm hoping the small version will be cheaper but it would be nice if the smaller models had DisplayPort.

The LG 32GQ950 might be a sleeper.

it's all about PPI and keeping scaling at 100%.
21" @ 1080p
27" @ 1440P
Have a perfect PPI for me so 42" @ 2160p will look the same as the above.

At 32" it is usable at 140ppi but I like it to be in the 100-110ppi range.

That's a good point. Surprised they haven't gone with 3200x1800 for 32".

Because for the average person it's hard to market against 4k 32" monitors.
Just look at all the people running 4K 27" monitors at low refresh rates that Scale the monitor to 150% which pretty much changes the size of the text to match a 1440p monitor.
They miss out on getting a higher refresh rate for the same price, all so they can have a 4K monitor.

On paper that 3840x1600 resolution seems perfect for both WFH and gaming purposes. I highly welcome the slight vertical uplift from UWQHD.
