[Dell] Alienware i9 10900F w/ RTX 3090 - $2917.43 (after Unidays or Dell New Account Sign-up 10% + Rakuten 14%)

https://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/cty/pdp ... aar11_s42e

Note: No Unidays code begging in this thread, see my signature. This is strictly enforced by RFD moderators.

3699.99 - 10% Unidays = $3329.10 - 14% Rakuten = $2863.03 plus tax (on $3329.10)

3699.99 - 10% Unidays or Dell New Account Email Sign-up = $3329.99 + HST (Ontario) = $3762.89 - [14% Rakuten x $3329.99] = $3296.69 (all-in)

Effective Pre-Tax Price = $2917.43

@peteyonline, thank you for the correction, I'm adjusting your figures for Ontario HST tax. Hopefully the math checks out.
Not bad.

3699.99 - 10% Unidays = $3329.10 - 14% Rakuten = $2863.03 plus tax (on $3329.10)

Not bad.

The calculation is slightly wrong.

The rakuten cashback applies to your pre-tax amount but after your purchase - does not impact your pre-tax amount at the moment of purchase.

So you pay 3329.10 (3699.99 - 10% sign up coupon/unidays) * your tax rate = what you pay at checkout = 3828.46 if we go with a roughly 15% Quebec tax rate.

And then deduct the 14% rakuten cash back (14% of (pre-tax amount you paid - 3329.10) = 466.06.

So your all in cost would be the 3828.46 (what is charged to your cc at purchase) - 466.06 (what will be credited to your rakuten account after purchase) = 3362.40$

Just clarifying because I keep seeing people post prices as if the rakuten cashback applies directly to your pre-tax amount - it does not. you should calculate it as a discount on your total price paid since at checkout
youre still paying tax on the amount before any rakuten is factored in. It doesn't make a huge difference in this case but I know some folks are going to be like ''how did you get ''x amount'' mine is different.

6800XT trades blows with the 3080 and falls short in some areas. A good card no doubt, but not much cheaper, and here you get a 3090.

"65w" cpu that you can't overclock for 3k? Is Alienware out of their minds? That cpu shouldn't even be an option.

Agreed, but if you're buying this system for the RTX 3090, the CPU provides plenty of horsepower.

This avoids parting a build, and certainly avoids the large premium on RTX 3090 right now.

The default configuration is air cooled, so if I actually wanted to use this system, I would pay the extra $50 and get the liquid cooled option.

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but the air cooling is not adequate under heavy load, especially for an i9

If they're only charging $50 for liquid cooling, it's a no-brainer.

There's also coupon codes, but if I use one that's not on Rakuten, that would invalidate the 14% cashback, right?

You can stack coupon / promo codes with Rakuten on Dell's site. We've been doing it for some time with the Unidays codes.

Edit: Misunderstood your post. You can stack one coupon promo codes alongside the Rakuten cookie / referral link. You cannot stack multiple coupon code and Rakuten. My bad for misreading.

I'm also concerned about the GPU cooling, and there is no liquid cooling for this offered for now... Also, the PSU...

No, you can't stack on Dell site... also Rakuten is not a coupon code, you just need to go trough their site

Ok, that's wierd... When I ordered... I got an Email from rakuten confirming my transaction, and I saw 536$ cashback. But it now disapered from my rakuten account. I can see now I have a transaction pending for a Dell order, but can't see the amount anymore. I also got 110$ back for Dell reward (3%).

be very careful with your CB on Dell purchase with rakuten, including myself, I have seen couple of people having trouble to get CB from rakuten from Boxing Day or even BF purchases. I mean you have to keep careful records and keep checking. I have emailed rakuten last week, so far no resolution yet for my purchase of a dell monitor during x'mas (10%, about $110).
