[Dell] Alienware RTX3080 + i7 11700 R12 Gaming Desktop on sale $2500

Processor
11th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 11700 (8-Core, 16MB Cache, 2.5Ghz to 4.9GHz w/Intel® Turbo Boost Max)

Video Card
NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3080 10GB GDDR6X

Memory
16GB Single Channel DDR4 XMP at 3200MHz

Hard Drive
512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD (Boot) + 1TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s

Lunar Light chassis with Low-Profile Smart Cooling CPU Heatsink and 1000W Power Supply

Update: It turns out that the link leads to a page with fewer options. If you want to have more customization options (e.g. dual-channel RAM (free upgrade) or liquid cooler (black +$50 silver +$100)), you need to purchase from the official Alienware product page. You can find the page by going to Products -> Gaming -> Alienware PC. Don't use the deal page. And don't forget to apply the 8% Cashback from Rakuten.

Lunar Light chassis with Low-Profile Smart Cooling CPU Heatsink and 1000W Power Supply
On the product page I only see Case Color: Lunar Light but no mentioning whether it is air or liquid cooling.
How can you tell it is air cooling?

I guess it's air cooling because when you add it to cart and look at the details

"Lunar Light chassis with Low-Profile Smart Cooling CPU Heatsink and 1000W Power Supply"

as opposed to:

"Lunar Light chassis with High-Performance CPU Liquid Cooling and 1000W Power Supply"

Lunar Light chassis with Low-Profile Smart Cooling CPU Heatsink and 1000W Power Supply ( Air cooling )

Do not buy, you can read the 1 star reviews yourself, for overheating. R12 also apparently has some memory issue that someone on RFD that bought one, brought up.

High power consumption, poor case cooling, the Intel chips run hot. Never buy Alienware without liquid cooling.

If you want to buy an Alienware due to 8% cashback, you are better off with this ( even though, it was 100-200 cheaper previously ):

Man I'm going to keep using my old PC until things are back to normal, I refuse to pay the extortionate GPU prices even at MSRP this generation.
Just remember things will get both better and cheaper eventually.

Mid to end of 2022 the 40 series GPU will be out, new processoes and motherboards and DDR5 ram.

That's when I'm doing my next build.

Been using my 1080ti to mine bitcoin to pay for it lol

by the time you get it, the price probably would have been dropped further.

Same. With Chinas ban on Bitcoin mining and the price of BTC dropping, GPU prices have been on a downtrend in addition to supply increasing.

At this point, I'm just going to wait for AM5, DDR5, and 4080 using my 8700k/1080ti

These pre-builts get outrageously loud compared to my meshify case with Noctua fans. I know Id regret it if I purchased this.

I was just reading that miners in China selling RTX 3 series cards for 250-450 and used market getting gradually flooded with used Nvidia cards....now just wait a week or two and you will see them offering on eBay for dirt cheap

If you can get your hands on GPU for MSPR price, scalpers are selling Alienware R12 desktops without GPU for cheap. In US you plenty of scalpers selling them for cheap. I got one and water-cooled, don't buy air-cooled... awesome PC

I added it the Ryzen 7 version with water cooling to cart and it works out to $2,294.99 + tax with the 10% newsletter coupon. 8% Rakuten and 3% dell rewards on top of that :)

only for those that order 3080, it is a very high demand card.

*however*, you can reach out to dell customer service a couple days after you place order, and complain that their shipment date is too far away... sometimes they may help you out a little or help expedite the order a bit ( but please don't discuss/post how dell helped you with your order here, to respect other RFD members ).

It doesn't matter if these go cheap on Ebay, you don't WANT to buy a RTX3080 used. I even read some computer articles recently that are warning people not to buy cards that are used on Ebay due to this same fact.

Would you seriously go buy an old BMW car for example, that you know someone has floored it and drove it hard? No body wants to buy a used car knowing that it has not been well maintained, or 'abused'. The life span of the card probably will drop, after it has been heavily used for mining.

BTW, the price of 250-450 is not realistic. It would be sold at MSRP, or at most, little bit below. If you are expecting a RTX 3080 that sells for 1.2k CDN, to drop to $400, I don't think it is realistic.

People had been talking about GPU being flooded since last year, it never happened...
