Only a half TB of storage? For that price? :|

I suppose it's easy enough to add more storage but still, can't believe a 2500 dollar computer wouldn't have at least 1TB included

And the case doesn't look great, if I was buying a gaming desktop I'd want RGB and tempered glass lol

a couple FYIs

make sure you get liquid cooling or be ready to purchase an aftermarket one

budget about $100 or so more for adding/replacing the stock fans. r/alienware has tutorials on what kind of fans work for the R10 and R11.

some folks in that thread have done some form of the mods but were still not satisfied with the thermals. considering an RTX 30 series are hard to come by they have tried to swap the internals to a different case, another $$$

Personally, I'd rather spend $1000 more and build a quiet, properly cooled PC without substandard parts. I don't understand why they couldn't give the case a few more inches of room to have vastly better cooling options.

it's faster than just having one stick of ram. but alternatively you can opt for the cheapest in the build and just buy your own in Amazon, MR, etc.

if I were to redo my setup I would have gone that route, I'm stuck with a Dell proprietary dual channel 16gb HyperX Fury Ram that I can't get another set for.

Single channel memory is the default... Make sure to choose dual channel.

I wouldn't necessarily count on that level of profit continuing for an entire year, as crypto booms will draw in large numbers of new miners. But if you were already looking to buy a gaming machine, mining with the 3080 is a good way to subsidize the purchase.

What about the electricity costs to keep it running all the time?
