Any thoughts on the G5 Laptop for $1049? The i7 and GTX1060 in there makes it look pretty mighty.
Curious where you see this? The G5 in the flyer and listed in this thread has a 1050Ti and is listed at $1199 ??

I am looking for the specs (GTX 1060 and 8th gen i5 or i7) you mentioned and that would indeed be a pretty damn good price.

If you could please share a link or clarify if you misread/mistyped that would be great.

Thanks

black friday sale is just not there

they used to have a good name,
now they are the tim horton's of the computer world
I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than those attending too small a degree of it.

Inspiron 15 5000 at $619.99 looks pretty hot to me

I posted about this laptop a couple of weeks ago on RFD and decided to wait until BF
good-deal-budget-laptop-2235507/

It was only offered for a few days for $649.99 and then the price went back to $848.99. I couldn't really find any similar spec'd laptops in sub $700 price range

With ebates and Unidays this could be had for ~$500 before tax.

AMD Ryzen 5 with VEGA 8 graphics
8GB, DDR4, 2400MHz, up to 32GB(additional memory sold separately)
256GB M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive
15.6-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) Anti-glare LED-Backlit Display
Tray load DVD Drive (Reads and Writes to DVD/CD)
Backlit Keyboard, English
42WHr, 3-Cell Battery (Integrated)
45 Watt AC Adaptor

Thanks, but still didn't see it. Are we looking on the same flyer? Face With Tears Of Joy
Yes, the one listed at $619.99. It doesn't list the DVD drive and back-lit keyboard but I think it's the same configuration they had two weeks ago. Regardless, it's still a good deal.

That's how much this monitor is selling for right now. Does Dell usually have better Cyber Monday deals?

Edit: And currently its successor the 2719DGF is selling for less.
For this exact Monitor, BB BF price will be $449.
Ironic to find a DELL monitor cheaper than at DELL.

I'll say it once. Companies selling Windows Laptops with 32GB drives should be criminally charged. Their CEO/CAO/CFO should be thrown into prison and locked away for 200 years.
Apple is guilty of this same thing. They kept releasing 16gb iphones and you wouldn't be able to update them after a year since they required like 6gb free memory as the update downloaded the entire OS and installed it. So only someone who did it manually through iTunes could update. They did it up until they released the 6 despite getting raged on for years. Apple even takes things further by intentionally obsoleting old technology with updates. It slows them down and can even cause boot issues. They got caught doing it and admitted it. Apple blocks third party repair through part limitation but offers mediocre repair through their Apple store services overcharging for everything. Apple is an overpriced service company you're buying into these days. They knock off others innovations

Samsung builds exploding phones. They bribed government officials, etc.

Huawei and many chinese brands knock off foreign brands technology. Also they may be insecure due to the chinese government liking control of stuff.

LG builds bootloop phones. A badly made modular phone that caused countless issues for many. A phone for Google with battery issues, etc

Laptops and physical computers are declining over time. Unfortunately those producing phones and other products have been carrying the torch on screwing customers over at times.

I do agree with everything you said; that said, even Apple's insulting 16GB phones continued to be useful as long as the user wasn't putting a ton of apps, photos/videos and music on it. These Dell laptops are useless after one hour of opening and having the forced updates installed onto them. I know a little bit about Windows (mainly a user of MacBooks and iPad and Android phones...-- the iPhones are not customizable), so I was able to get 14GB back, and able to download an app that I wanted...
Well, I am not a crook.
