From its "View All Configurations"

this configuration worth $1599.99

Compare with Lenovo UHD version y50 @ $1469 plus tax and a 4th generation CPU
http://shop.lenovo.com/ca/en/laptops/le ... /#59445903

Have been looking for another powerful gear for a while, and this is the lowest price I can find so far, enjoy

What happened to the 1920x1080 i5 version that was on sale for $980 CAD? It disappeared a few weeks ago.

I was going to purchase the XPS 15 infinity 1080 with the 960m tonight however I could not find a coupon code so I was going to wait until tomorrow.

I decided to compare this deal vs the XPS 15 1080 (all 1080 panels are matte, non glossy for the XPS) and found a huge deal breaker with the Inspiron for me at least and I am sure this will be very important for some potential buyers.

The Inspiron 4k screen is only 244 nits of brightness (glossy, very reflective, a struggle to view/read in well lit rooms) whereas the XPS 1080 infinity screen is 414 nits of brightness and matte finish (non glare, clearly visible in well lit rooms). Average screen nits for laptops top out at 300, so in conclusion, the Inspiron would have below average brightness/clarity and would be difficult to view in well lit rooms. Information obtained from popular YouTube reviewers and their tech sites.

Is this an aluminum body? How does this compare with other boxing day laptop deals so far? Should we wait for the real boxing day deals, not just the early deals?

I've been waiting for a new laptop for a while...

I got the $1549.99 model of the XPS 15 9550 discounted down to $1400 pre-tax with a year of accidental warranty and a wireless mouse.

PM me if you want and I can send you the rep's name + my order ID so maybe you can get the same deal.

I got a further $100 discount because I complained about delays + my mouse was defective, lol.

Has anyone seen this story about Dell.com U.S. version of Inspiron 15 7000:

https://hak5.org/tekthing/tekthing-46-d ... n-gig-city

New Inspiron 15 7000 Series Non-Touch $799.99 U.S.

6th Generation Intel Core i5-6300HQ Quad Core (6M Cache, up to 3.2 GHz)

NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 960M 4GB GDDR5

799 U.S. to Canadian would 1,103 CAD

Was hoping to see this model on sale on Dell.ca for Boxing Day.

This model was actually $930 CAD about a month ago before Dell stopped offering it: dell-ca-930-inspiron-15-7000-7559-i5-63 ... 1856217/5/

I'm still interested in this laptop but at this point I'm not sure if the i7-6700HQ is a worth a $200 upgrade over the i5-6300HQ, and I don't know if Dell will ever offer the 1080p i5-6300HQ version again.

AARRGHHHHH Damn it!!!! Missed it.

But that is funny that they don't offer it anymore. The tekthing story was just a few weeks ago and it is called the NEW Inspiron 15 7000?

Wonder why it's not offered anymore.

Thanks for the information, it matters a lot... if this UHD is not as good as we thought, then this price may not really worth it...

According to information provided from MontrealBonjour, the 4k display could be somewhat defective, then the $250 difference may not worth it.. $930 is really a great deal..
