The updates in the blackblaze study seem to suggest that the wd drives are far worse than the seagates. The 4tb seagate has actually done really well in their tests, can't say the same for any wd drive installed in the last year. I know there are flaws in their methodology but they've been having tons of issues with wd drives in general (going as far as to exclude recent wd green drives from their systems entirely).
