[Dell] Seagate Expansion 4TB 3.5" External Hard Drive - $139.99

Been looking some external HD to expand my XBOX one. Saw this item at Dell being sold only today @ $139.99. Used a coupon for $15 off for Electronics and accessories of $100 so total price is $124.99.

This is currently being sold at BB for $169.99

WD 4tb isnt much more expensive, and has much better reliability from what I can gather.

The seagate 5tb is always 150-160$ as well.

I'd be interested in a coupon too. I need another 6 to finish off my server.

The updates in the blackblaze study seem to suggest that the wd drives are far worse than the seagates. The 4tb seagate has actually done really well in their tests, can't say the same for any wd drive installed in the last year. I know there are flaws in their methodology but they've been having tons of issues with wd drives in general (going as far as to exclude recent wd green drives from their systems entirely). Given that wd drives cost more than seagates, I wouldn't even bother to consider them right now.

Never going to buy Seagate again. Bought 2 Backup+ 3TB, one in May 2012 (fail June 2014) and 1 in June 2013 (failed last week), both failed at the 25-26 month time frame so it's out of warrantee

Agreed. Had 2 seagates fail on me recently too. I'm WD all the way now.

You can't combine a coupon with this unless a CSR makes a quote for you manually. It specifically states that in the Day of Deals stuff and the coupon box is removed if you put this in cart.

Yes you can that's why I got this for $124 without a rep. :)

Anyway, this deal is dead now. Price went back to $179.99.

Avoid like the plague. Had a 5 TB fail after 7 months. The replacement was also defective. finally they sent me a new one. The weird thing is that I finally figured out the Long Generic Test always fails on external drives on my desktop, it works on my laptop, with seagate tools and I have no idea why.
