[Dell] Dell Alienware Cyber Monday

Lots of deals on a lot of Dell things. I just bought an Alienware Aurora R10 unit, with a new NVIDIA 3070 card in it. $3,000 list, on for $1,999. Direct link here:
https://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/desktop ... 04d268ad29

If you wanted to get a gaming PC, an NVidia 3000 series card or a Radeon 6000 series card....... well this may be your only option in the near term. I have built PCs before and was planning a build with a new graphics card in it, but you can't get one. This deal was a fantastic fallback for me.

If the $2,000 price tag has you choking, even the premium Alienware name has units available down to about $1,400. If you aren't looking for a mid to high tier gaming PC, please feel free to look elsewhere!

Best of luck. Long time fan, first post.

Kind of late to the party unfortunately :(. There are multiple threads with several pages of people getting alienware desktops on sale with various coupon/cashback/retention discounts and more. The cashback is back at 2% down from 10% friday/monday too so whatever is left up on dell and alienware's page isn't nearly as good of a deal.

Use the search option to find the other threads - tens if not hundreds of replies in multiple threads.

The person that got the best deal got the AMD desktop with a 3080 card for 1640+tx. then yesterday someone got an amd system with the 100$ liquid cooling addon and a bunch of stuff for around 1940 all in.

Shame Rakuten dropped to 2%

G5 desktop with i7, 1tb ssd nvme and 3070 is 1899.99

Unidays/welcome offer of 10%

Not a bad price if you want the 3070

Yeah just missed the boat. People were getting 3080 Alienwares for under $2,000.

its still achievable...

rakuten.com ( install chrome plugin extension ), when you visit dell.ca you will see message top left that pops up with 10% dell cashback ( assuming it gets processed ).

Some people factored in the dell rewards savings, but I am completely ignoring those credits.
alienware R10: 3700x, 512gb ssd, 16gb dual channel, liquid cpu cooling 1000w PS. rtx 3080

choose the machine with: 2299.99 + $100 for liquid cooling = 2399.99 ( If you can get 10% off coupon, from uniday, or if newsletter still works ) = 2399.99 - 240 = 2159.99 and plus tax = 2440.79 - rakuten cash back $216 = 2224.79, IF Dell gives a courtesy credit for you of $150 = approximately 2074.79 after tax

Of course if you don't pick liquid cooling, machine will be cheaper as well, but that upgrade is highly recommended.

Its the rakuten cash back that has been lowered now.. It could have been as high as 15% from rakuten, or 10% on rakuen.ca

Like others have mentioned you missed the boat on this one. Some were even lucky to grab one while they were doing the 25% off gpu/ssd upgrades. I would wait for boxing day now to see if similar prices come back with better Rakuten CB.

I need to sort of reset the expectation...

The 25% off upgrades was before the cash back was high percentage. However, the base price of the machine was higher as well to account for the discount... It's approximately 100 to 150 in savings as compared to when they lowered the base configuration of the machines but with higher cash rebates.

If you order the R10 or R11 computer, GET THE LIQUID COOLING. Else you will have a jet engine. The heatsink they put on it looks like its good for about 30 TPD.

I believe this person had gotten the 3700x, 3080, 16gb ram at 3200, 512gb ssd + 2tb hd for this price.

Assuming they got 8-10% cashback and possibly a cancellation credit, this by far was the best price.

apart from that, this was more or less 2299 with 10% off for the past few weeks.

you lost me at "premium Alienware name"

i don't think they've been premium for at least 10 years. and have always been over priced...

but at least they have beautiful cases and lights!

They got a price error - the item remained in their cart from the previous day with the previous day's discounts and stacked with the new discounts. Nobody else reported getting the same price error, so that price wasn't exactly the norm

I could be wrong but I do recall cashback was at 8% while they had the 25% off promo and a few people go it. I was about to pull the trigger but sat on it too long and lost the deal. I should of bought first then thought about it later lol

No, the 25% upgrade was not with cashback of 10 percent. That cashback wasn't available at that rate yet.. I know because I placed an order when it was 25% off upgrade. It was 8% dell rakuten.

This build base config is 3299.99, looks to me to be a standard build without liquid cooling.

Yes you are right. It's 8% cashback when the 25% was active.

But what I am saying is.. After the 25% was removed.. They made some adjustments to the component prices itself.. So even without those coupons applied, the difference is approximately 150 dollar difference.

I placed mine at 8% and with 25% upgrades. When I compare to the going price now, it's only about a 100 to 150 dollar difference that I saved with that promotion.

$100 to liquid cool a 7nm ryzen? I didn't think it was worth it but I will use it as an excuse tomorrow to get myself a cancellation credit. My order was just processed and has a shipping date for Dec 14. I'm betting it is worth more to them not to stop the process.

Liquid cool for 100 is your own personal choice.

If I had a good large case with good air flow, air cooling is fine. Considering these chassis are so condensed, I don't know how the cooling will perform with your CPU and GPU both pumping hot air there. Just because ryzen is 7nm doesn't mean it won't run hot. But that is your own personal choice if worth it or not. Buying AIO cooling even for custom build you are looking at $100+.

I guess my point is that given the space of the case is the same with either the water cooler or air cooler, is there a significant benefit? Given the $100 difference and any further discounts for complaining how hot the air cooler will be, I was thinking a better water cooler could be bought.

Guess so.. But with the chassis being small.. Would have to see which AIO Liquid in market fits. I didn't look into that any further :)

Looks like the Corsair H60 (single fan) will do the job as the user in the Dell forum has posted.
https://www.dell.com/community/Alienwar ... 075#M36310

Amazon link
https://www.amazon.ca/CORSAIR-Liquid-Co ... 415&sr=8-1

I got offered $195 additionally off my order just now. Will be buying the H60 now. Downside, no alien logo from the stock water cooler Disappointed But Relieved Face
