[Dell] Dell G5 15 Ryzen 4600H / 5600M Gaming Laptop $1,299.99

Brand new laptop from Dell using AMD's new Ryzen 4000 series CPU and 5600M GPU. This is the first laptop to be a full AMD solution and uses the smartshift technology to enable better performance depending on where the load currently is. $1299 is quite a good price for a gaming laptop of this caliber IMO.

Not sure what else can be stack on top of this for discount, Rakuten or GCR id imagine though.

Only review I can find, as it just launched... somewhere around 2060 performance levels.

Take this with a large grain of salt...

We shall see how performance shakes out

Looks to be a better screen in this laptop than the mentioned Asus one. But better CPU on the other model (both are quite powerful though). 1660ti and 5600M similarly matched but with the Radeon using 7nm, battery life may indeed be better on the Dell, will have to wait for indepth reviews to come out. Nice to have choice though, glad more models are now hitting shelves!

Have they improved their G3/5 screens over the last couple of years? When I bought my G3 two Christmases ago, the screen was pretty much a required upgrade (I replaced it with the screen model from the MSI laptops of the time).

The installed screen was beyond dim and RGB gamut colour space was stupidly low.

Asus is much better deal. Ryzen 7 vs Ryzen 5.. 16gb vs 8gb.

What ? RTX2060 level ? Slim chance. Have yet to see a bunch of comparable real world reviews. Its no doubt a decent card at the price but most users will prefer the nvidia for more game optimization. Eventually AMD will get GPUs that will have to be better than nvidia but this set does not. Not a lot of PC vendors supporting this card which tells you something. Renoir CPU on the other hand has a lot of support.

Maybe and I amended my comment to slip chance from no chance :-).
See my comments re lack of PC vendor support and lack of real world reviews.

5700M would be the next logical step up on AMDs side, or 2070 maxQ on the Nvidia side. Trouble being this is the first laptop released with this GPU, so waiting for more reviews to determine exactly where it lands. 2060ish in performance seems to be the initial findings...
