GTX1660ti level of performance for 1009$ is definitly a good deal.
Ryzen 5-4600H is somewhat on par with Intel i7-9850H so more than fine for 1080p gaming.
Ram and Storage can easily be upgraded, beside it's almost Black Friday.

Definitly worth a closer look if you're looking for 1080p gaming.

Yes the screen probably sucks and it’s heavy and it’s loud but who cares? Can you even build a desktop with this much performance at this price?

If you want a laptop that can run games it will always be heavier and louder than a regular laptop, it comes with the territory. Beside thin-and-lights gaming laptops on a friendly budget are usually made of plastic and overheat like mad.
Anyway it's not like I'd consider this laptop to be particularly heavy or big to begin with, more like average sized.

60+ shipping days. That's way too long....Otherwise, it's a good deal.

Notebookcheck has a review for a G5 SE with 4800H and 5600M. Other relevant specs also close to the ones for the model on sale talked about in this thread. Except for the screen that looks to be one of the better options -- IINM, the one shipped with the deal laptop is Option 3 (220nits, 45% NTSC, 60Hz) [call or chat with Dell to verify directly from sources].

According to the NBC review, this laptop gets pretty hot and noisy when gaming [more than other laptops] and it might have performance dips. Other features look OK.

Here's NBC's table for gaming (no ray tracing). I understand that X-Plane 11 might be a gauge as to how good a video card really is. The 5600M gets slightly over 30fps at high.

I picked this up at best buy for $1050. The G5 is known for having overheating problems but apparently a lot of them have been solved by the community

Out of the box it ran hot even at idle. in a game over 100C. With the combination of dell's new emergency firmware and a tweak to a hidden power performance mode setting in windows 10 i can confirm what they found. it now runs very cool at idle and in the 80s during benchmark/games with little to know performance loss. I have 13 more days to determine if i want to return it but performance/$ wise it's looking good now that the heat issues are under control.
