[Dell] DELL G7 15 i7-8750H GTX1060 $1,399.99 excluding Uniday, Tax and Ebate

I saw the G7 was on sale today. See the spec below.

Price: $1,648.99 - $149 instant saving = $1,499.99
Add to shopping cart, apply Promo Code below:
- Copy and paste: $100OFF$1300PC. Net before tax: $1,399.99 or
- Enter your unique uniday code (10%), Net before tax: $1,349.99. Don't ask me to give a uniday code, as I got it from someone.

I don't understand why I can't stack the uniday and the $100OFF$1300PC codes. I know it worked before.

Also, don't forget to use ebate for additional discounts.

This is a very good deal with 256GB SSD, so it’s lighter than the combo 128 SSD + 1TB HD which is also on sale.

What are the main differences between G7 vs G5? The blue colour on G7 looks better and appealing than the red one on G5.

I missed the GT5 deal couple weeks ago. Here is the comparison between the two GT7 (this deal) and GT5 (previous deal - 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD and 16GB RAM). Other than the blue vs red colour, RAM and HDD, they look exactly the same (casing, dimension etc).

Uniday and $100Off* codes have never stacked for me. I recall one person saying they somehow got them working, but I believe they were also stacking an EPP code with it (EPP *is* stackable), so that may have confused the system.

And honestly - unless somebody comes in offering EPP codes, please don't beg for them. They are few and far between.

Recent review for Dell G7 from Dave Lee. The white/blue colour looks very cool.

That was me a couple weeks ago. I was able to stack UNiDAYS, 100 off 1300, ebates 10%, dell advantage 3% and a Dell EPP 15% all together. Got a G5 black for $1216 all-in......Dell EPP are unicorns and I just got lucky with timing from a friendly RFDer.

The G7 has a better screen than the G5. The better screen comes in two variants. The same 1080P screen could be from LG or AOU. The AOU is much better because it can go up to 100hz. Dave 2D got the AOU panel while Bob of All Trades got the crappy one. Both have reviews on youtube.

G7 has cosmetic enhancements like blue grills and cooling fins. Dimensions are the same.

G7 can be configured with i9 but not the G5. This implies that it has better cooling internals. Although it might be an artificial restriction set up by Dell to make the G7 more up scale. No one can confirm either way, I've been searching all week but can't find anything.

That white looks dope! But the G5 is still cheaper with more ram and HD space. I'll keep the G5 unless I can get the new HP Omen 15. Thin bezel, smaller overall dimensions, better screen, better keyboard, better backlighting. All for $1000USD!!! (from microcenter) That Thin bezel is the biggest bonus over the G5/G7. The G5 and G7 will look so "last gen" in a year. Harder to sell in the used market.

How did you stack $100 off $1300 and unidays? Was it browser specific?

Thanks!

Is there a 16gb version? I find the Dell site super cumbersome to navigate. The only version I can find has a 1050ti.

These deals are usually only for specific configurations, unfortunately.

Ok thanks for the info.

Does anyone have thoughts about 16gb vs 8gb of ram for games like Overwatch, Witcher 3, and Doom?

Can we add a HDD to supplement the 256GB SDD in the configuration posted in the OP?

No, you can't, but you can choose a different configuration. There is one on sale for the same model for 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD.

Are you sure about that? I watched a few videos with this configuration that showed the HD slot empty. Example below.

The other version with 16gb is nice, but almost $300 extra.

Sorry, I meant the initial configuration purchase from Dell. After that, you can add HDD.
