Not the lowest I have seen, but still a good price for a 11th gen i5 Laptop after factoring in Unidays 10% off.

I bought this during BF sale for $549 and it's a solid laptop. Also, Rakuten has 2% cashback

Upgradability: 2 DIMM slots available, 1 populated with 8GB DDR4, 1 m.2 NVMe SSD and a empty 2.5" drive bay. Dell includes the bracket and screws in the laptop so you can install your own 2.5" drive if needed

Bought this before Christmas as a student laptop for my kid. Also bought a Lenovo Ideapad 3 Ryzen 5 from Staples sale to compare. The Dell seemed to have a brighter screen after enabling the Dell Cinema features. Benchmarking using several tools showed Dell faster on single core processing but Lenovo faster multi-core. Video benchmarking was similar between Dell Iris XE and Lenovo Radeon 7. In the end, decided to keep the Dell as it was a 15" vs 14" and kid liked the bigger keyboard. One thing I found that apparently is a known issue is the Dell WiFi was incredibly slow. Uninstalled the Dell Smartbyte crap and it improved, although still much less of the speed of the Lenovo WiFi sitting side by side (199 Mbps vs 299 Mbps). Have done all updates, drivers etc and the wifi cards were basically the same thing so not sure why Dell wifi so much slower.

Anyhow, happy so far with the Dell for the price.

Fyi, this laptop does not have a USB-C port

You could use a DisplayLink adapter with the USB 3.2 Gen 1 port (5Gbps) to connect to a 4K display

Happy with it also, thin and light and screen is bright and big at 15.6". Upgraded to 16gb ram (2666), and a new intel wifi ax card. Bought some USB A to USB C adapters on amazon and it works great. The only issue is Dell takes about a month to deliver, maybe more now.

I don't think anyone is getting Unidays 10% for Dell anymore. The codes haven't been available for months now. The 10% coupon code for signing up for Dell emails also doesn't seem to work for their laptops either. I know because I signed up yesterday with a new email address for the Dell emails, received the 10% coupon, and tried it out on various Dell laptops in my cart.

Agreed I tried generating Unidays code for this deal and nothing happens. Did not try the new email route though.

Go ahead and try the email signup. Dell is still sending out 10% coupons but they just seem to not work on almost everything I have tried (at least for laptops and 2-in-1’s).

Will see. In between i tried perkopolis code that have around additional $32 off. Still debating. 10% off would have been nicer.

So there is no such thing as a USB-A to HDMI [email protected] adapter? If not, then you cannot get HDMI [email protected] out of this laptop?

The laptop HDMI 1.4 port supports up to 1920x1080 @ 60Hz.

The Plugable USB 3.0 dual 4K HDMI 2.0 and gigabit ethernet adapter supports up to 2 displays at up to 4K 60Hz
https://plugable.com/products/usb3-6950-hdmi/

Can not find an adapter with just 1 HDMI port that supports 4K 60Hz output.

And I have been reading that the only way to get video out of USB-A ports is with adapters that use a technology called DisplayLink (which you mentioned before) and the adapter you linked to also uses DisplayLink. Also read that DisplayLink will have issues if what is being displayed has an image that changes rapidly such as in gaming or a full screen video and stuttering and jerkiness is often the result.

I'm unable to create the configuration OP suggests. The i5-1135G7 config only works with 12gb of memory and a 512gb SSD, for 929.99$

Seems like OP's configuration actually has a i5-1035G1.
