I'm on my second day of using this laptop, and so far I'm liking it. The first thing I did was to pop the bottom off and install an extra 8 gigs of ram, which was quite easy. As others have noted, the keyboard isn't the best, and has quite a bit of flex to it, but thats not a deal breaker for me.

From what I read in another thread, the code works on anything but they may have changed that.
The e-mail with the code says "Save an extra 10% off student laptops, desktops, and Dell brand accessories!".

I tried it on a WD Blue SSD, an XPS 13 Plus, and the laptop in this thread (all separately). It didn't work on any.

The one I had worked when I used it for my purchase 2 days ago, mind you that code was generated over 2 weeks ago.

But you're right, I just generated another one and it doesn't work anymore on what I bought. They must have changed it.

For the price, I think it’s a great system even though the build quality is average.

I ended up ordering my girlfriend the Inspiron 5515 with Ryzen 5700u a couple days ago because the talk about poor build quality and lack of features like backlit keyboard, USB C with PD, and touch screen put me off of this one. I have been quite satisfied with the 5515 over the year I've had it, upgraded the ram and added a second SSD.

Also the 5510 with 256GB SSD, 16GB RAM, Intel I5 11th gen went down another 30 dollars to 799.99......

How is Dell at price adjustment before shipping?

They'll price adjust up to 30 days after purchase. You can submit the request now.

I am starting the refund process. They are asking for the discount code again to confirm we are eligible as the original price with student discount is actually lower than the new price.

And we all know the UNiDAYS and other student discount codes are gone. Dell has their own discount program and the above laptop is not on the list.

I’ll update what happens when it happens.

So how does this compare to Acer Aspire 3 A315-34-C6Z9 I got from Costco for $299.97 + Tax?
I know the specs are very different but is it worth getting the Dell if I just have to use this as a University laptop for non technical course. Main use will be creating reports/projects on MS Office (word, powerpoint), use it for Email (Outlook), Youtube and web browsing. Any suggestions? I have the 10% off student code too and it work on the site.

I wish this was a 14" model. Also, can't be sure about waiting for Ryzen 6000 series.

I tried using a valid university 10% off but says: ** is valid code, but isn't applicable to any items in your cart.

So no 10% off for this model

I had a 10% coupon from the Dell email signup and that worked.
