CalgaryRunner wrote: Just to add to the OP's reply, not all USB-C ports can carry the signal needed to connect to a DisplayPort monitor - you need a USB-C port that implements Alt Mode. I haven't checked this particular system that closely, but I would guess that since it has DisplayPort outputs on the back, the front USB-C port does not implement Alt Mode. The OP has checked this system more closely than I have so he might want to weigh in on this.
Yes, you are correct.
The front USB-C is only a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C™ (10Gbs). (https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/ca ... lang=en-us)
Only the $30 optional USB-C has DP 1.4.

1 Optional Port (VGA, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort++ 1.4, USB Type-C™ with DP 1.4-alt mode)
The OP has already confirmed what I thought, but just so other readers of this thread are clear, the port you mention is an optional port that would be located at the rear. The front USB-C port does not implement Alt Mode.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy the wifi card on amazon?

Thanks OP, now I want a computer I didn't know I needed this morning! This is a pretty sweet deal!

If I get it, I'm pretty sure I'd get the i3. The 10th gen has Hyperthreading so this is a 4 core / 8 thread part. Performance should be pretty similar to the I7 - 6700K I used to have which has never felt slow!

The benefits to upgrading to the i5 depends on people's workflow IMO. If you're looking for general office productivity / web browsing, I doubt it's worth the extra money.

If you don't buy the wifi card with the PC. You won't get the preinstalled cable.
The wifi card is worthless. The cable inside under the motherboard is what the $40 for.

The deal is all about the Windows and the SSD

Removing the Windows 10 PRO will reduce the price by $195 :D

Great work op
Upvoted for all the in depth detail.
What is everyone using this for if not gaming? I often read the word, "workstation" used for a computer but don't know why. Is this processor with the right hardware capable of making this tiny form factor into a powerful computer suited for video editing or after effects production? photo editing? Music creation/editing? CAD or 3d modelling/animation??

Just curious as even the marketing pic from dell shows this tiny machine hooked up to 3 or 4 monitors. So its geared for spreadsheets users then?

Just in case the "Workstation" part didn't give you any idea already. This is primary for work-related stuff. Anything that isn't heavy demand or gaming will work fine. Anything from a reception typing up document, POS, coding, even photo editing should be fine, aside from the spreadsheet, webbrowsing, etc. These processors are plenty for those.
