AMD used to be absolutely dogshit at the CPU market for desktops/laptops, until in ~2016 when Ryzen first dropped. They instantly forced CPU pricing way down, as things got competitive. Consumers really benefited from AMD cannibalizing Intel sales honestly, they really gained a lot in market share. I'd say back then, getting a Ryzen CPU was by far your best option price-wise, at least on first release.firegarden wrote: ↑ I've always known Intel to be reliable and the premium product since childhood. Honestly, now they're about the same, if you see a deal posted on RFD with either an Intel or AMD cpu, either or is fine.
