I have no use for this laptop, but just wanted to say good to see more 16:10 laptops available now in 2021.

Yes, enter service mode then remove the base cover to access these components

I bought the 13.3" that is still in transit mainly for the 4k screen, but this is not bad at 226 dpi and 16" screen. Might order this and return that one once received!

The weight of this one is 2.15kg. Not as portable as 13.3''. But display is much bigger.

Don’t miss the awesome RTX3060 version of this… Kinda makes the XPS 15 look sad. You pay in build quality though.

Thanks, I just placed an order for this!

Better CPU, battery, bigger screen, non-touch, anti-glare and $200 less... make this better deal than the 13.3 that is in transit!

I bought the Inspiron 17 early this year but the colour tone is very bad. On google map the side street and the back ground colour kind of merge together until I set it to highest contrast.

For those who own this, does the screen have too much reflective glare like most gloss screens?

Do you think this integrated graphics is good enough for basic gaming like table top simulator?

I don't really game much but I thought some of the newer Intel 11th gen chips have the Intel iris xe graphics which is supposed to be pretty decent for integrated graphics?

Smaller and more compact notebooks always cost more than large clunkers. So it's not really a fair comparison.

Keep in mind this 16" notebook is nearly twice as big vs. XPS 13 in terms of volume.

UHD graphics should be suitable for basic gaming

Yes, Iris® Xe graphics is decent and faster than AMD integrated graphics afaik

You need to be careful, not all the 11th has the xe graphics. The i7-11800H has a UHD Graphics with 32 Execution Units: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en ... 0-ghz.html

It's a shame about the integrated UHD Graphics Xe 750 on this CPU. This laptop was clearly designed to have a dGPU for any sort of GPU-reliant workflows/gaming.

The UHD Graphics Xe 750 are going to be outpaced by the RX Vega 8 on AMD Ryzen 7 5700U laptops (ignoring things like cooling, etc. of course). If you are looking to do more than minimal gaming, I'd pass on this.

If you don't care about that weakness, the screen and CPU are very solid for the price.

Is there a similarly specd and priced laptop from any other manufacturer? I hate dell, my last 3 expensive dell laptops have broken after 2 to 3 years. All bios or motherboard issues. Hate dell now

Yeah. The GPU of this model is quite weak. On the other hand, lack of dGPU is good for cooling and battery life.

The model with 3060 GPU is hard to recommend because:
1. It costs $600 more.
2. With such good CPU and GPU you would want to use it for gaming, but the display refresh rate is only 60 Hz.
3. Cooling & battery life could be an issue with such powerful CPU and GPU.
